Oh I am very much not an institutions will save us true believer. I’m one of the voices of ‘gerrymander the shit out of districts, pack the supreme court, fuck the notion of comity, and give Trump the good old Mussolini treatment’
So, you know, very much not the centrist institutionalist type :)

Man, leftist media must really suck at turning people against Biden. I mean look at these leftists here. Not only not spreading disapproval of Biden, but not even feeling it themselves.

I believe I have been getting my good news from the wrong leftist sources!
BTW, what leftist sources are there actually? All of my news comes from here and the crooked media and strict scrutiny podcasts.

So you probably think the culture war is all about pizza styles then.

Twitter is a godsend for the GOP. Twitter is dominated by left of center creating an echo chamber that drives the left into a dead end. Twitter is like the modern dem party and apparatus of being mostly utilized in the political scene by college educated peeps. It has made rock stars of some of the extreme elements of both parties but the GOP has benefitted by its loons being booted.
Biden should have gotten a bigger bump from infrastructure the Dems stepped all over it with the BBB/voting rights mess. Only now is Biden really trying to tout it.
So would you say that Twitter sends the Dems into…disarray?

Twitter puts Dems mostly into array as they move in lockstep and discount info contrary to their priors. As a result, they think their views are more ascendant than they are and ignore warning factors b/c twitter says they’re right. I believe people think 30,000 likes on something is significant and shows massive support for things …when 30K likes is nothing in politics.
Dems fail to confront their priors, MAGAs organize insurrection. Both sides!
But anyway yes, I agree, let us bury Twitter under a toxic waste dump and set a four-headed angel with a flaming sword to guard it against mortal intrusion yea until the very end of time.

Objection! Democrats have never moved in lockstep on anything.

Sorry Will Rodgers.
More the activists/professional side. Both sides are seeing a collapse of single issue groups to become more pro left or right. Think NRA on right becoming general rah rah GOP and on left being some of the abortion groups in favor of abolishing the filibuster, which is a bad idea for pro choice groups.
Yes, on the one hand Twitter gives all Dems their marching orders, while on the other hand Twitter is the domain of and at the mercy of only the most extreme Dems. Perfectly consistent, that.
If Republicans have a majority in the Senate who want to ban abortion, they’ll do it whether they have 60 votes or not.
Hey look wahoo crawled out of their hole.
Really feeling this energy today:

Sinema was just censured by the AZ Dems today.
As much as we got on Republicans for censuring their senators , sometimes it is needed to show disapproval, and Sinema more than earned it.

Just as with prosecuting politicians, it all depends on whether the censure/prosecution is justified by good cause. In Sinema’s case, there was VERY good cause for a political censure. She harmed her own party, went against the wishes of the voters who elected her, and went back on the principles she used to stand for (at least in theory).

(I’ll admit, full devil’s advocate mode here)
State Republican partiers made the same argument against Republican congresscritters who refused the big lie.
I’m just kinda uncomfortable with saying it’s ok for us to do it and not them, even if I know we’re right. Not so much doing it, but the optics of such.

So you’re saying a Republican who refused to go along with a total lie being censured is the exact same as a Democrat who actually, really, harmed the Democratic process being censured are the same?
Are you really pulling a “both sides” on this?

There is a HUGE difference here. HUGE. Not to be ignored. Reality matters.
Don’t conflate BS with reality.
