The one that was just announced is the third one. Don’t feel bad, I didn’t realize it either, but I was confused about the amount, which is how I ended up figuring it out.

There have definitely been two already. We received the first way back in April 2020, and the second in January of this year. We still have not received the current one, but we are fortunately not in a rush for it.
There was a $1200, then a $600, now another $1400.
The 1400 one hit my bank account today. It pays to file your taxes electronically and have the debit or refund happen that way. :-)
@jpinard What form did your original 1200 bucks take? If it was an electronic deposit to your bank account, the 600 dollar one should have been done the same way (it was for me)*. For my Mom, the first one was a check, the second one was in the form of a cash card for some dumb reason (and I was suspicious of it at first, but I checked it out and it was legit). Maybe you got one of those and dismissed it as a scam? If so you should still be able to get it somehow.
*anyone remember offhand when those dropped BTW? Before or after the new year?

Also, another way to read this is he’s been away from home the last eight weeks except for about 6 days. Time to go rant in an op ed.
If you go to the irs website, you can find out when the new payment will be received (and the status of the first two, I think)

The first dogs have been temporarily banished back to the family home so of course he had to go back this weekend to see them.
Without looking at any comment above --and with a sound sense of what is right and wrong --my opinion (for what its worth) is that the first 50-60 days have been peaceful and quiet.
Plus I guess i get the vaccine on monday.

Nothing to worry about. I did not even feel a pin prick when they injected me. If you’re worried about reacting to the vaccine that’s more of a concern (but still a very minor one) on the second shot.
The needles they use now you can barely feel. My childhood self who hated getting shots is envious.
I got my first 10 days ago and felt her pinch my skin together more than the jab. Lil sore the next morning, but gone by noon.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is what they used when I was child getting vaccinated in the early 70’s.
That looks like the monstrosity I used to get dental shots with!
Everyone I’ve talked to thought the injection itself was fine, but it hurts like a mother fucker the next day and for a few days - it’s kind of strange, I don’t know why it hurts so much - the second shot didn’t do that. My wife just got her’s Friday and she thought I was wrong about it Friday night but Saturday she had to admit she had a tough time even putting deodorant on. Folks at the hospital I work at had similar stories. This is the Pfizer vac though, it may vary for other types.
