No issues with pain, almost 3 days now after the shot.

Then again I feel nothing, according to my last ex. :P

LK I am so glad you got it. Second shot actually tomorrow. First shot was just a bit ouchie.

These are good numbers.

I wouldn’t think the carrier medium would be any different than a regular flu shot, so I don’t know why it would hurt more. Same with the payload, no reason it should cause any more or less pain. Maybe it’s just people who rarely get shots?

But Romney is supposed to be the least shitty Republican. Maybe there’s some thing that politicians from Utah can’t vote pro-Native American or something.

I work in a hospital full of people that get flu shots ever year. Have you had it yet? It hurts like a SOB and I have no idea why. But it seems the most common side effect from at least 6 or 7 people I’ve complained to about it that also had the shot, and all agreed.

Google led me to this:

EDIT: I had ALL of those side effects, including fever/chills, and it was ironically worse than the month before when I had actual COVID, ha.

I get it more or less every year, maybe I’m just lucky in my body response. Feels like somebody ā€œfroggedā€ me in the arm for two days, that’s about it.

Just to clarify - I’m not talking about the flu shot hurting - that can hurt for half a day or so though if you don’t keep your arm active. I’m talking about the COVID vaccine. That sucker hurts, the first dose in particular, and for a good 24-48 hours after it’s pretty intense, even.

Huh, interesting. I’m only a few hours in, maybe it will intensify. Right now it’s pretty much flu shot-level. Plus side, as I approach fifty but still stay active, damn near anything causes me significant muscle pain, maybe I’m just used to it.

Everyone I’ve talked to, including myself and my wife most recently, thought it was fine at first. See how you feel tonight, and in particular tomorrow. Though, I will admit, I’ve only talked to and had experience with Pfizer, so maybe it’s different for other flavors.

I got the Pfizer, I’ll report back.

I had Moderna, the site of the shot throbbed for like a day and a half. Others complained about their whole upper arm hurting. And the pain/throb for me was like… you know how you look at your arm and say hey there is a bruise there… it wasn’t like hugely distracting but it was… noticeable, reminding you you had an arm. The only other symptom is felt hot for about five minutes during that 20 minute wait and see period, both times.

That sounds like the flu shot to me. Sore spot the first day, next day I wonder why my arm is a bit sore until I remember, then third day I can kinda feel it if I poke around. I would think that you would get a very similar response to an empty sterile needle being stuck into your muscle no matter the circumstance.

After that major screw-up where the pharmacy gave a bunch of people a whole not of nothing, like literal air, I guess I should have paid more attention to the shot. heh. It was the military though.

For symptom though, if anyone is concerned at all go see a physician or something, but you’re not alone with some more severe reactions. those reactions were even recorded during the studies.

Yeah, I got mild fever / significant fatigue and arm pain from dose 1 of Moderna, ramping up over about 12 hours and staying maximally unpleasant for another 12+. Not thrilled about dose 2, lol. Already requested off from work.

I’ve been told the flu shot hurts less if you use the arm a bit after getting the shot. Perhaps true here as well?

Seems like most people only have it bad for one of the doses, so hopefully the second dose is fine for you. Will be interested to know.

I have bursitis in both shoulders. It’s hard to sleep through the night as it is. Not looking forward to the added pain.

The nurse who gave me the second shot encouraged me to work the arm a lot and drink a lot of water.
