Funny, but should be “Debt!!” The yearly deficit is a no-go for the GOP, because first they rely on an uninformed voter base, and a big number without context plays better than a moving number with in/out cashflows. Second, if their base ever figured out what the deficit was, they could Google the historical deficit and suddenly realize that the GOP spends money and doesn’t pay bills like a drunken teenager with the parents’ credit card. (brought to you by someone who figured both parties were equally shit until he dug into the financial history of the GOP.) Financially conservative and socially liberal means you’re a Democrat, full stop.

That’s more social democrat than libertarian.
We’re rubbing off on you. Hopefully in a year you’ll get your first guillotine. ^_^

It’s not that hard to hold basic principles, but understand that dogmatically ignoring reality doesn’t work.

Because possession of Marijuana is illegal under the Federal Controlled Substances Act, it is still a (federal) crime in every state, regardless of what state law says. The supremacy clause in action!
This sucks for the banks, who would really rather not have to worry about the implications of banking marijuana businesses. Providing banking services to the businesses risks federal money laundering charges. Harder to square the issue for this landlord, but I get being cautious.

Apparently I’m missing something, but it involves listening to and looking at Ted Cruz so…

on the one hand, one is my senator. On the other, listening to Ted Cruz.
On the gripping hand, you might get to watch Ted Cruz get decked?

Might. Nah. If it happens I’ll catch the replay at 11. Over and over and over and over again.
If it involves Ted Cruz getting kicked in the balls, hard, I’m in.

If only they like had any control over Federal stuff, oh well.
Uh-oh…no pot use in the Federal Government? Should the “Joint Chiefs” be worried?
I’ll see myself out.
I get where they are coming from though. Though I, along with most, agree this is a law that needs to be changed I’m not sure there is much wiggle room, at this point, to simply pretend this law doesn’t exist.
If a bill passes congress and the President vetoes it, that is a very big strike against them. Right now they have to follow the law.

I said this before… if you want the government to not care about people smoking weed, then make the government stop classifying weed as a schedule 1 drug.
We need to stop this schizophrenic bullshit, where we say “Weed isn’t so bad”, but then have the actual laws say, “Weed is literally the worst possible drug you can have.”
People in congress need to stop being fucking cowards and deal with shit like this, because it has much broader implications than some folks getting high. With laws as they are, the BEST outcome you can hope for is bullshit inconsistent application of that law.
