The CNN anchor in AZ was pretty shook up about the crowd outside the building. I can’t tell if it’s a serious problem or overreaction. Granted there’s a crowd but they seem to be just standing around (with guns to be fair). The reporter said one of the things they were doing was “singing YMCA”.

But I haven’t seen an update on DDHQ or the NYT site that suggests it.

DDHQ is out ahead of the Times, with their magic voodoo (which I think is scraping data at the county level or something.)

But yeah, I try to have one site that uses Edison Research to check up in a tab, one that uses the AP count, and then DDHQ…which sometimes feels like a time machine from the future but like only 20 minutes in the future.

The guy who reported it is a reporter with an Atlanta TV station and got it straight from election officials. It hasn’t been passed on yet through the regular channels which is why no one else had these numbers.

Why is Florida with ~11mil to count finished on the day, Pa with ~7 mil and Ga + NC with ~5 mil to count takes fooooreeeeever

For NC specifically, they count the ballots they have quite quickly. But they also need to count absentee ballots that arrive in the next week, as long as they were mailed in time.

(Also, counting votes is a trivial to parallelize process. A larger state has more to count, but will also throw more resources at it. So the number of votes is not really a factor, unless it is unexpected.)
