I was watching CNN live and it seemed pretty scary in the moment. That is the primary source of the initial info as far I can tell. To be honest I think the reporter got shook up and acted unprofessionally in describing the situation which caused the confusion. I understand why she would be concerned because the people are hanging around and they have guns and you don’t know why. But it didn’t seem like anything was going on that was dangerous or out of control. That of course can change pretty quickly, which would be unfortunate.

Is the edging I’ve been hearing so much about?

Seems so.

From someone who lives in a country without guns everywhere: what?

Just be happy you live in a relatively sane country.

I mean, it’s Arizona. I fortunately also live in a place where I don’t have to worry too much about weirdos running around with guns. But thems the laws they have in Arizona. I’d feel much better about this situation if they didn’t have guns of course.

““The only way Biden can win Arizona is through fraud,” said Jim Williams, 67, a welder who attended the protest. “I won’t accept a Biden victory. I don’t want to live under Communist rule.””

Dude have you ever LIVED in a commnunist country? Real commnuist would just lock Joe Biden up, nominally feed him and let him die of curable diseases.

This is my election 2020 song. I give you the beatles!

Not bad?! That wine is very good, excellent value for money. I’m jealous!

It appears that this outcome is shaping up to be the best-case scenario for Senate Republicans. They rid themselves of Trump without taking any political hit for it, but they keep control of the Senate and can stymie any attempt by Dems to actually govern. They’ve already passed the tax cuts they were elected to deliver. And they’ve stacked the courts with their people. McConnell must be positively gleeful under that solemn turtle’s mien.

I’m not griping — it will be great to have ousted Trump after one term. I’m just saying I don’t think we should expect them to back Trump in any challenge, at least not sincerely or with any real enthusiasm.

Agree completely.

Heading to the doughnut shop, folks, and will bring a report!

as of now, Biden trails 20,000 votes in Georgia, but there are more than 250,000 votes left (at 96% voted). So it looks like there is a good chance. I think he was way behind, caught up all due to mail-in ballots (?)

There aren’t 250k left.

hm, I added the votes from Biden and Trump, they represented then 95% … divided it by 95 and multiplied by 5. Maybe I did the math wrong …

edit: recalculated with 96% I get 201,871 votes left. More than enough

An interesting piece from Fox News:

I am not so much interested in whether this take is true, as much as I am curious whether this narrative will become popular among Republicans, particularly the base. If so, it might offer us an opportunity.

I continue to think that it can be useful to look for help across the aisle in advancing things we believe in. And my friends usually snarl back something to the effect, “What, make a deal where police can only shoot unarmed Blacks in the back three and a half times?”

But I don’t see looking across the aisle as a matter of splitting the difference on issues we believe in, but rather finding pockets of support for some of our goals. IF (a big if, to be sure) a significant portion of the Trump supporters see this as the cause of their beloved losing, maybe the moment will be right to challenge the “first past the post” voting which makes all kinds of progress so difficult.

The ‘estimated in’ values are just that - estimates. At this point, most of the meaningful votes remaining values come from county or state officials and not those data sources.
