Another GA nugget. Looking like there’s more ballots to be counted there.

edit:

This post was not as funny as I had assumed. Wrong crowd.

Cool story bro.

He’s almost up by 3% in already-called Michigan.

Imagine if Michigan was allowed to count their votes the way Florida was, and mail ballots were reported first. How much does that change the doom narrative of Tuesday?

I very much give a fuck, thank you very much.

Glad everything is working out for you and coming up Lufkin I guess.

Get some sleep, Scott.

Jeez guys.

Heh. That could factor in for sure. :)

I finally got 6 hours, and am likely too bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. :D

Tuesday night: 3 hours. Last night: 5.

So I have been intentionally not looking at the election status until now. We are really fucked aren’t we?

Like sure Biden may win, and Trump was always going to throw a hissy fit. But Biden is literally looking like he’s only going to win by a couple of electoral points and that’s it. Him and GOP are still getting such a massive endorsement of the last 4 years that GOP obstructionist and lying is only going to increase. Biden isn’t going to be effective at all, and the country is just fucked.

I’m trying my damndest to not give a fuck and patiently wait for the election to resolve. Unfortunately, my damndest isn’t enough. So now I’m just trying to come to terms with the idea Trump will win and that it doesn’t matter how long the counting process takes. Now I can reach and live at this low point for however long, and then if Biden’s 7 million vote lead somehow magically ends up being enough to win a U.S. election in this day and age, then I guess that will be a nice surprise.

I think this whole releasing numbers in a stream of just all at the same time is bad for US health. Maybe consider looking at it when you fix healthcare?

Biden may not even win. Keep your fingers crossed.

If defeated an incumbent President and in so doing, probably saved democracy and perhaps the rule of law and maybe made it possible to have a reasonable response to a pandemic then yes, we are fucked.

I mean, have some appreciation for victory.

Interestingly enough, it’s possible that both Georgia Senate seats may go into a runoff. First I thought that the GOP would have an advantage going into those runoffs, but I’m not totally sure now.

It’s possible that the Dems could win both those seats, and if they did, then they would control the senate if Biden wins and Harris can be the tie breaker vote.

Longshot, but possible.

Also, if this happens, the amount of money that’s going to flow into Georgia is going to be INSANE. It’s gonna be like, everyone in Georgia gets a new car.

Fingers crossed explains my typos.

Sure but I’m talking about the long game here. These results are good for the short term but in no way are we not fucked for the next several decades. There’s enough of a push that the well oiled GOP machine is going to rack up the lies and ridiculousness to 9000 because they are right now being told that it was ok. How easy is it going to be for a Biden 2nd term when he’s obstructed and mud slung like never before? How does this election result bring sanity to the government.

The President only has so much power alone, and the fact that our country is so bi-polar and angsty means we will never fix our image as a global leader.

Or…

Biden will replace Bill Barr as the AG. They will have a massive task on their hands to rebuild the DOJ and FBI. But they can do that, and undo the wrecking ball to the US justice system.

That’s big.

The Department Of State currently hangs in tatters. We’ll have a new Secretary of State who can rebuild Foggy Bottom and re-establish the US in the world and affirm our partnerships with our allies. You cannot fully comprehend how terrible morale has been first under Rex Tillerson and then under Mike Pompeo. State – once one of the most vital cogs in our government apparatus – was essentially gutted of resources by a president who didn’t care about it.

So that’s two pretty important things that President Biden can do.
