According to MSNBC, Philly has stopped counting mail ballots until a poll-watcher case is resolved. Not suggesting they are being tossed or anything awful like that, just a pause.

Also reports (same broadcast) that Biden campaign staff is saying victory is imminent.

Thanks. Was wondering why everyone in Philly is sitting around right now. :)

And here I thought they were waiting or new programming instructions to be downloaded from SorosNET.

Kevin! Shhhh. . . (they’re not supposed to know)

I needed that. :D

And Kevin, I really hope you’re doing OK. You’ve been in my thoughts a lot the last couple of days.

Right. He says “game changer”, I look at the linked tweet and it might as well be cricket commentary to me.

omg just count the votes

So is there a wine for people who don’t like wine? I prefer sweet to dry, as in a don’t like dry at all. And I know nothing about wine.

Can I help count votes? I ain’t getting anything else done.

Expected.

Wine coolers / spritzers.

I kind of disagree with you here. While Republican elites represent diverse interests, all their electoral power comes from a markedly monolithic blood-and-soil populism that has no problem purging people for the slightest dissent, rooted in a tribal fear of the (real and ongoing) demographic displacement. The Republicans need to have that sort of cohesion in order to control the government as a minority, and they’ve achieved it.

The fantasies they spin amount to loyalty tests; you prove your allegiance to the Party by engaging in doublethink.

They can be more pricey than entry level, but look for Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand. Trust me.

For 10 years, they were the entry-level wine I’d suggest to people who hated dry wines and liked sweeter tastes.

Rose is usually a crowd pleaser. It does tend to be sweet, so unless you like wine really sweet it might be best to stick with a dry. If you want to party like a millennial, prosecco is also an option.

I can’t help with that, sorry. I don’t drink sweet wines at all.

Buy the cheapest bottle of bottom-shelf Chardonnay at your local store. If you like it, drink that. Start cheap and move up rather than the other way round. I rarely spend more than $8 on a bottle, and I prefer to spend $4 if I can get away with it (i.e. my girlfriend will tolerate it–my pallet is entirely unsophisticated, and I’ll happily drink two buck Chuck.) Trader Joes often has a Mendoza pinot noir for $4/bottle that is perfectly adequate to me.

The Times count has now updated to reflect the same number as DDHQ in GA.

My wife loves Rieslings and Gewurztraminers, which are both pretty sweet.

I used to love Protocolo a few years ago, but it kind of dropped off my radar. Good to know it’s still good.
