So, if Biden only gets Georgia he will be at 269 and if any other state goes to Trump, he will be at 266.
What then? Is it a win for Biden or what happens if nobody gets to 270?? Confused …

I’m sure the constitution is crystal clear on the matter of each candidate getting 269 votes…
A 269 tie will end up being decided by the House of Representatives, where each state will be given one vote, and Trump will win. But don’t worry, that is not going to happen. Biden will win Pennsylvania; already has won it, really, but the networks are being cagey about calling it.

As I understand it, none of the networks are planning to call Georgia anytime soon. It’s too close.
We’ll have to wait for either Pennsylvania or for more final counting in Arizona for the race to be called.

If both candidates get 269, the election could be decided by faithless electors in the electoral college (that’s actually what the founding fathers intended), but if the electoral college deadlocks it goes to a tiebreaker in the Congress. With the rules of the tiebreaker, this effectively means Trump will be re-elected.
This is all academic though, since Pennsylvania is going to Biden. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Georgia did not stay Biden after counting military ballots and a possible recount, it is so close. But Pennsylvania should go to Biden with a recount-proof margin, and that puts Biden at at least 273.
CNN just had a guy from the election board in PA, and there is a ballot drop coming from Philly in the next hour or so. He wouldn’t say how much of the outstanding vote would be included, but if it is all of the outstanding Philly vote, that might be enough to give Biden the lead. Once he takes the lead there, networks will start calling the race.
Yup.
If you look at the 538 “snake” Biden will probably end up with all the states that he was supposed to form his core 270 with, plus (counting ME2 and NE2 as states) three of the six he was supposed to pad his margin with. Plus, 538 – and others too – featured discussion on the doubts regarding Florida in the days leading up to the election.
The biggest knock is that the popular vote margin will be quite a bit less than predicted.
The narrative may persist that this was some sort of epic fail, but it doesn’t look that way to me.
It’s amazing to me that, with the outcome really not in doubt, the GOP elite are either responding to Trump’s threats with tepid, vanilla bromides, or actively joining him in threats and bluster. I guess they’re afraid of his voters, but if you’re Lindsey Graham and just got elected to another 6-year term, you really don’t have anything to fear at this point. Certainly nothing that warrants suggesting that the PA count is fraudulent and that the PA legislature should void the election and name its own slate of electors.

Graham is going to run for President in 2024. Same with Cruz. They need the Trump base.
We haven’t seen the compromising photos/videos that scumbag has on him (nor do I want to see them)
those are just my little ladybugs
Sure, but that’s just part of their sick fantasy imo. Add the two of them together and you’ve still got a charisma black hole.
I have not had a chance to look around this morning, but my sense last night that the those tepid bromides were pretty clear signals that this is going to play out according to the normal system. That Trump better not look to them for any help in bullying the system. And that started on election night with Pence’s statement that followed Trump.
Their tent is going to be split between those voters who want to fight up to and possibly including mass violence and those who want to accept the results as posted. And a competent politician is not going to unnecessarily burn bridges with the other side of the tent.

It looks like this is heading towards a reasonably strong Biden victory, once all the votes are counted. The outstanding questions to me are (a) can Trump use the courts to gum up the works (I lean no / not much) and (b) will there be enough people who decide to employ violence in response to his dog whistles to cause serious trouble (I lean possibly).
Still waiting on Philly vote count dumps.
Biden up by 1000+ in Georgia

Lot depends on the GA specials for Senate. Dems win both of those, things change.
It will be Blue Dogs running the show, but better Munchkin and Findspine then the traitor turtle.
I’m more sure than ever they got dirt on him. He was quiet for days then got called out and came back groveling.
