To elaborate a bit on DDHQ – most of the big media outlets – including the Times – depend on vote totals as reported by the AP or by Edison Research. Both get their vote totals from secretaries of state in various states.
DDHQ has been putting real reporters into the mix to talk to county board of election folks at a very granular level to get vote counts before secretaries of state announce them. So following them is like living in a vote reporting universe that gets its totals from a half hour in the future.
We could probably have been popping the champagne at around 9:30 yesterday morning. :)

Congratulations America. You’ve (probably) got a new prez. Now imagine what kind of things Donald Trump will do in the next 2-3 months to spoil this win.

I use this term jokingly a lot, but our long national nightmare is over.
Edit: I feel like the was one of those RTS games where one worker was able to keep building a barracks and we just had to grind it out.
