BTW and OT, but as a person who grew up bilingual in Spanish and English I’ll never use “Latinx” except in quotes. It represents a fundamental misunderstanding of the use of the default grammatical masculine in Spanish*. Not just that but as spelled it’s unpronounceable. Why didn’t they go with “Latine” and plural “Latines” if they just had to create a neologism? It would be equally gender-neutral.

*Example: “niñas” unequivocally means (young) girls. You would assume that “niños” is thus understood as “boys” but it’s not-- devoid of a context it’s “children.” If you want to specify boys you have to say “niños varones” (literally “male children”). Even the singular “niño” can be understood as just “child.”
