They are afraid of being attacked by him and painted as biased by his followers. Still, they are afraid of him.

Ah… I guess they’re waiting to get out of recount territory?

Well, if the Republicans have to spend most of their press conference repeating that they are all confused how Trump had a lead to start the night and then it went away overnight, they clearly don’t have anything real.
They called California with zero votes reported, based on what they forecast to happen. Every one of them now knows they will get out of recount territory in PA.
It’s worth noting that the one election org that isn’t a broadcast or cable network has called the election.

Do they know what a projection means? They know how many votes are remaining and whether they are likely to break for Biden. They can easily project it will be outside recount territory at the end. It’s so stupid.
I’ve been thinking about the “our long national nightmare” being over a lot also
I really think Churchill speech after Montgomery’s victory over Rommel in North Africa is most appropriate.
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. " If Democrat’s had taken the Senate, increase their lead in the House, and Republican’s were talking about a post-Trump party, then I’d think we could say our nightmare is over.
Sadly that didn’t happen, and the plague of Covid-19 gets worse not better.
But, we shouldn’t diminish the importance of getting rid of Donald Trump as President.

This guy seems to think otherwise.
Nate Silver says there’s a chance but it’s highly unlikely.
Great. Fetal position resumed.
think about it - Moscow Mitch is going to obstruct like there’s never been obstruction before. the latest SC appointees are going to jump on that new train, with the more devious mind at work. THAT’S what you should be afeared of. Trump has no value now.
Our long national nightmare will last for as long as we have biased national media.
Edit…also horrifying education systems.

the outstanding mail ballots which may be challenged have not been included in the counts.

the provisional ballots are mostly from Biden territory, the view that they might skew to Trump is based on a small sample.
I know they are making arguments for why they are not calling it. I just don’t think those are arguments are the actual reason they are not calling it.
Silver says they should call it. He’s been saying that since last night.
Of the 100K provisionals, about half are from Pittsburg and Philly. They will break heavily Biden. The lead will probably double just after the Pitt votes come in. The mail-ins are consistently breaking heavily Biden, especially the ones coming from the locations noted.
We’ve always had a biased media. It wasn’t until the 20th century, that newspaper and magazine even pretended to be unbiased and objective…

Based on that Kornacki video, there are 100k mail in ballots left, and 100k provisional, with mail ballots going 75-25 to Biden. He then wonders if the provisional ballots might favor Trump some and close things up.
Could that happen? Sure, anything’s possible. But back of the napkin math says those provisionals would need to go at least 80-20 to Trump, assuming the mail in ballots left continue they way all of the rest have. It’s unclear what universe that scenario could happen in though.
In other words, don’t get too worried about it. Feels like TV people hanging on both to be extra sure this time around and to keep those eyeballs on their screens.
