According to MSNBC, he is planning on having Harris speak first (not typical for this situation), and wants to make sure she is given her due. So, they will probably wait until the networks call it.

Standup guy, as usual.

i don’t even

I don’t think it’s surprising that the networks keep from calling, giving the eyeballs on their channels (I’m guilty myself), but there is definitely no reason not to call PA at this point. It’s either cowardice or greed.

Either way. looking forward to not having an insane egomaniac in the White House. Can’t go back to the way things were, but at least we should have some relief in the coming four years.

Also, @jpinard, hope you’re doing OK. Take care.

Keep counting!

I’ve made a terrible mistake

I’m not sure Travis is right. He might be!

Allegheny County reported a 4:1 ratio for Biden on mail-in absentee ballots, but I didn’t see anything (and I’ve been looking) to confirm they were military ballots.

Hang on here, I just saw on the national news that there were 140k Covid cases (not a typo, 20k more than yesterday). Someone has their numbers wrong (no idea who, but 122k sounds a lot more plausible).

Maybe after years of torturing the media, the media is taking revenge and edging his sweet demise over days and days.

I too wish they’d hurry the fuck up already.

Come ON Pennsylvania. I NEED this soon.

WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT SOURCE SAID

Will defer and spoiler blur it.

I’d be fitting if all this waiting causes the orange one to stroke out. I know I was close to doing so on Weds

Unsaid, but important subtext in that tweet, if Acosta’s source is accurate:

Georgia and Arizona have Republican secretaries of state. Trump endorsed Georgia’s publicly.

Pennsylvania has a Democratic secretary of state.

Oh, no need. I just wanted to make sure that we didn’t draw too many conclusions about military vote that could affect Georgia based off that tweet is all.

It may be 100% correct.

PA is what really counts, it is the reason we know Biden will win.

And, for the typical voter, this is what is visible:
Biden 49.6%
Trump 49.3%

People have watched Biden claw from way behind to a tiny lead, and the wham, bam, we call it? And Friday evening, when angry people have time on their hands to maximize their anger all together?

People watching closely understand why Trump’s position is hopeless, and has been hopeless for some time. But in a nation where most people are not election nerds, this is going to look like a biased ref. Which undermines the advantage Biden gets from the call.

And before we sneer at emotional reactions which are illogical, look at our own thread Tuesday evening, anger and despair and blame in all directions, despite the fact that we had all been told most states would count the heavily red in-person voting first.

I say, it’s much better that the networks take their time, wait until the evidence is incontrovertible, even for those who have not looked deeply into the intricacies.

I did not want him to die in office and leave Pence in charge.

But now?

Have at him!

Yep, he’s beat, we’re done with him now

I know they counted maybe 500-750 ballots in Philadelphia about an hour or so ago. Watched them do it.

Much agreement here.

I’ve found myself online browsing for Gritty shirts several times today.
