Alright, so guess we’ll need another week to make sure a batch doesn’t come in 30:1 for Trump or something, just to be sure!
Jansing also described what the poor vote counters in Allegheny are up against.
They’ve got 29,000 ballots from a batch that were mis-printed originally. So they’re having to ensure that they’ve got the right ballot and not the misprinted one before they can count them. Needless to say, they’ve gone home for the night, but will get back at it in the morning.
This is an important distinction. Networks calls projecting a winner are always unofficial. They are reporting on the expected outcome of the election but those results are not official until all of the votes have been counted and certified.
That’s a good theory - especially if it accidentally “leaks” after the calls are made.
