Can you explain how they called California with no votes counted at all and just a belief about what the remaining votes were?
That vote drop came from Fulton County. No specifics, but it’s either:
- Overseas/military ballots,
- Provisional ballots
- Both of those things combined.
7,000 vote lead in GA. They can recount it, but they’re not gonna find 7,000 votes. (Or 5,000 for that matter. Or 4,000.)

So, reading all this, and following the news a bit - where is the current Vicepresident, Mike Pence during all this? Hiding somewhere? Fleeing the country?
At 2:30 am on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, after Trump had his little tirade claiming victory, Pence got up for about 5 minutes to ramble for a bit, double down on the claim of victory, and to also say “count the votes” after Trump had said the opposite.
Right now Pence is (wrongly) imagining his future as the next leader of the GOP.
My mother and brother live in Fulton Co. I can guarantee they didn’t vote for Trump! So, yay family!

Ah - so I wasn’t imagining things, that he has been off the air for a few days so to speak. At least, none of the news I’ve seen has mentioned him anywhere. Thanks.
My opinion of Real Clear Politics has really fallen during this election cycle.
I always try to read a smattering of conservative viewpoints, and, for a very long time, I found that site to be a good sampling.
This cycle, it seemed to me that almost every link they provided was to drivel. I found other conservative articles on my own, so I know there was stuff out there, but almost never through RCP. And now, post-Nov 3 when you’d really expect some responsibility, it’s been a week of unremitting trash.
Confession: for the last hour I’ve been watching the Philadelphia ballot counting live cam.
The big hall has been deserted since past midnight. It’s had a bit of “Life after humans” sort of vibe to it, where 48 hours ago it was constant bustling activity, and now…nothing.
My brain can’t process it. What if they’re done counting? What if no one shows up?

But now people are arriving. At first I wasn’t sure who they were. Are they folks who work at whatever giant venue this is, or are they election specific workers? You can tell the latter, because eventually they put on the fluorescent yellow tunic thingies.
…and now I see one or two people with the tunic thingies on.
There’s a dude with the sort of loose-limbed energy of Jim Parsons who I think I recognize from counting ballots the last few days. He just arrived. He’s talking to someone in a tunic.
I think they have to wait until observers show up to start processing ballots first. But it looks like they’re there at least.
I hope they’re there to count ballots, and not just clean up and move the stored ballots out of there.

Question:what states should Dems look to put resources into for 2024?
My guess:PA/MI/WI/AZ/GA/NC. Five really close states you’ll need to work to win again, and NC is flippable.
MN/NV/FL/TX as tier 2 targets.
Honestly am not sure why they haven’t called North Carolina…like a while ago. For Biden to threaten Trump’s lead there, there would need to be on order of 130k - 140k ballots in the mail system. Which is not happening. Not just in North Carolina, but in many other places around the country, when they’ve done a sweep for ballots they’ve found…a dozen. Dozens, maybe.
But not hundreds, and certainly not thousands, and absolutely not tens of thousands.
