Last week I was going to buy a giant bottle of champagne if Biden won, but seeing just how many people voted for trump has taken all the fun out of it. The trump signs in my neighborhood further crushes my spirit knowing I’ve got horrible, horrible people who live on my street.

You may be right provided there’s no shenanigans, but shenanigans are still possible. I’ll believe it when Trump concedes.

I think the next thing we have to worry about is shenanigans in the electoral college. It’s going to be very close and who knows if there are one or two electors ready to make a point and be famous.

A reminder that faithless electors aren’t happening.

He won’t concede.

But he also won’t be living at 1600 PA anymore come January.

The often-fractured Court agreed, however, on the outcome: if a state wishes to prohibit faithless electing, it can absolutely do so.

So are there any states that Biden won (or will likely win) that don’t prohibit faithless electors?

I lived for years in Fulton County. It’s a suburban area of Atlanta, and everyone is probably stuck in traffic.

So, what are the chances Trump won’t show up?

Oh, right. That’s a good point. I remember the traffic from the times I’ve been there on business.

Was hoping they’d use MARTA. :D

Not zero, I’d imagine.

Plenty of states that went blue have no law against faithless electors. PA is a particular concern.

It’s quite possible to be simultaneously elated that trump is (probably) leaving the WH and dejected that the political environment of the past ten years not only hasn’t changed but likely will get worse (hello to the new Q members to Congress.)

If a quarter million dead Americans (and counting) and all the shit of the last four years got us this election result?

I am happy that the Tongass won’t get clear cut, that Pebble mine is dead, that climate change action is again on the table, that families will no longer be separated, that the DoJ is no longer trump’s personal law firm etc et al.

We’ve got two years to figure it out, but in this very thread there are people still insisting that the only way forward is to become more Republican while being only slightly less evil.

I mean I’m pretty pessimistic, but I did note upthread:

Just read that Nevada won’t release any more results until tomorrow. Anybody know if there’s info on what is left to count? Ballottrax doesn’t show mine as counted yet (dropped it off on election day) but that probably doesn’t mean much.

Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien is projecting confidence in the president’s chances in Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada and Georgia. He said Wisconsin was headed to “recount territory.”

Sure, Wisconsin is probably headed there. But they’re going to be counting votes in Wisconsin until tomorrow at earliest. And the margin may be 25-30,000 ballots. That could be tough to overcome in a recount.

Per Ralston, it’s provisionals and mail-in ballots, mostly in Clark County. Too early to call with confidence, but probably in Biden’s favor.

He’s conceded! Kanye West has conceded!

Fox really pissed in DJT’s wheaties with that call. Spoiled his bullshit election night plans.
