I’m venting, Icebear, as my excised ‘pony’ line indicated.

Yeah I hear myself. Human rights are GOOD. Racism is BAD. Oh, and I’m turning them into Nazis, yes, yes.

Saying that more states would disenfranchise voters if their votes mattered…is maybe not the strongest argument.

Although I do see how it could have an impact.

You need 67 votes in the senate and ratification by 38 states. That’s not going to happen. What’s plan B?

And there’s very little opportunity for pickups I can see. Retirements in PA and NC and…?

Trump may personally be a moron, but the more disciplined messaging from his ads and surrogates was spot on.

Sorry, missed the pony line! Carry on…

I think the basic argument - which remember wasn’t mine - is that the EC smooths over state voting rules and irregularities.

I think you’d only need those 2, wouldn’t you?

We’re in it.

There’s a part of me that wants to live in a plains state. I blame The Tree In the Trail.

RE: polling

I think the era of live-interview call polls may be over-ish. Maybe they can fix it somehow, but it seems like it is inherently flawed. Quinnipiac was the big wrongo here, but none of the university-sponsored pollsters – including Siena and Suffolk and Marquette law – did very well.

Honestly, I think to get hard-to-reach voters, you’re going to need to use panel providers like Prodege (which is Swagbucks) and the like. If you’re smart about how you design your screens, you can get young black and latinx/hispanic voters. And older voters. And low-propensity white Trump voters. And offering a compensated, on-demand online poll/survey is probably as accurate as anything else.

We are literally fighting for our lives and the other side is fighting to terminate us (and themselves to a degree). It’s very much an “us vs. them” thing with so much on the line.

Comcast needs to get into the business and offer polling via their cable boxes. Offer people a small incentive to answer questions via their remote control.

When we did our predictions (which, have I mentioned, will be 11 for 11 if PA flips to Biden and everything else stands?), we wanted to make sure we got Trump voters in.

Compensaton does it. We paid 20 bucks per participant for 35 minutes of “work”, with extra incentives for accuracy.

I think we should just have elections determined by Facebook/Twitter likes, retweets, etc.

One thing the Biden campaign should have done was gone after gamers more. Use the fact the Republican FCC has done everything it can to keep prices high and service spotty. Vote Democrat for higher speeds, lower latency, and lower prices!

Hmm, NYT has Peters down by 34k votes.

I think we should just have a team of scientists run this country.
