What is this one?

No idea, sorry. Probably related, but I dunno.

That seems like a garbage coin, the history on that page shows like 0 transactions a day for most days. Lots of transactions ticked to today, which might just be people accidentally buying or selling the wrong thing.

So, uh, this exists:

When they said crypto had no single point of failure, I didn’t realize they meant that all the points would fail.

My brain.

Heh, internet like point for you.

I can see the distant relationship to English, but what language are they even speaking?

Apparently they’ve minted over a billion Terra (Luna) since yesterday. There were about 344 million in existence yesterday, now 1.4 billion.

Some algorithm!

Is that how modern monetary theory works?

Should trying to drive the price up mean scarcity is better rather than creating more Luna? It’s a bit mystifying.

I think my 1.4 billion number was hilariously out of date, it looks like there’s actually like 121 billion circulating now. I might be reading the numbers/charts wrong, but that’s what it says.

In case you had a moment of sympathy.

Hey maybe cryptbros should consider self harm.

I’m just putting ideas out there.

I assume that “the algorithm” acts as though it isn’t going to significantly impact the total volume/ price. As long as the price is > 0, there’s theoretically some value to be had by minting and selling more, so I assume that’s what it’s going to do.

Whenever someone talks about “the algorithm” I hear it in the same voice as the UFO catcher dudes from Toy Story saying “The Claw”. Seems very appropriate in this case :-D

Thankfully I managed to pull my retirement money out of crypto before the crash. Put it all into a much safer bet, frozen orange juice concentrate futures.

I think we captured a real-time image of the transaction.

I listened to this entire thing and I’m still not sure what the hash-rate is:
