Do Kwon says fork it to Luna.

He’s going to do it all over again, hoping to fleece suckers a second time. Are people going to be that stupid and invest?

DecENtraLiZe baNkiNg!

Um. Yes?

The perfect headline for this just hit me.

Well, if he is going to do a Ponzi scheme, at least he focused it on misogynists?

Is this the manifesto guy, or just some random misogynist ex-Googler?

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy:

I can’t read that. What’s going on?

Koreans are turning on Do Kwon

The ECB seems to agree with me:

Also, somewhat relatedly, Levine linked this interesting, but facially questionable, research paper on the link (if any) between Tether and CP/Treasury yields, which if correct implies that maybe Tether really does have as much CP as it claims. I’m pretty dubious though

I’m not trained enough in statistics, nor close enough to the CP market to really challenge the result, but it just seems implausible to me from what I know, at least as a causative relationship. A 20bps increase in CP yield is at least a doubling of spreads (or rather it was pre-rate rises) - I suspect the data has been tainted by the observation period:

Anything including early 2020 is going to show way more variability in CP (or any other credit asset class) yields than you would expect to see in normal times, with that variability far more plausibly driven by the pandemic than by crypto. There is no way that a single standard deviation move in one market would cause such volatility in CP.

CP chart 2

Here’s the overnight non-financial CP rate over the last three years. It’s almost perfectly correlated with the Fed Funds Rate, for obvious reasons. As you can see, if you take out the Fed rate change movements, a 20bps swing would be massive.
