My brother stopped, rewound and paused the TV because he couldn’t believe what he just saw.
Yep, but earlier today the cops formed their line, and it was reported that it was mostly Park Police.
And apparently with bonus national guardsmen. So, fun.
This thread is quite helpful in spelling out what Trump can do and how little Posse Comitatus restricts him.
Cause it is just common sense, Tom. The reason you don’t call the cable rep, receptionist scheduling your Dr. appointment, Airline gate agent, or store manager, a stupid, dumbass when you are confronting them is because it very unlikely to work out well for you. All of these people are trained to deal with abusive people and be polite doing so. But they are also human, and far more likely bend the rules for someone who treats them well. When, I mean pissed off, I don’t mean allowed to pull out their batons and beat you. I mean cut you no slack.
Like the airline rep who says after you yell at her, I’m sorry sir I don’t care that you just made the reservation 5 minutes only, because you forget about the international dateline but our rules state that there is $200 change fee, plus the difference in airfares. See I never pay that change fee, but some of my hot headed friends do.

None of them are armed and allowed to use deadly force. Your local store manager can’t shoot you. In a sane world.
All occupations which, as everyone knows, are armed and prone to using lethal force without provocation.
Put another way, don’t piss off cops because they are permitted to abuse their power if you do. I think it’s the permitted part people are questioning.

You use Twitter? That should be on there. If not, mind if I do it?

I hope you realize you are excusing racial profiling and physical abuse by cops, up to and including lethal force, with the rallying cry of… they’re human too. You might as well start running around chanting Blue Lives Matter.
That’s a real headline on the NYT website right now.
man, this Trump. Now, finally he found a way how to vent off all the pressure. /s I fear, he will enjoy it immensly. He just need to be sure that nobody sees his boner.

Man, this extended cut of John Carpenter’s “Prince of Darkness” is really something.
But a Walmart store manager averages between $100-$150K vs $53K for the average salary of a copy in the US. You get what you pay for.
Let’s be clear these cops, didn’t use force, use racial slur, or even insult the man. The put handcuff on him until they looked at his ID and realized he wasn’t who they were looking for. Could/should they have been more polite you bet. But again we don’t know happened before the filming started.
I’m really curious what the cops should have done.
You are told be on the look out for Joe Smith cause he is wanted, you are given a description, maybe a photo. We don’t know. You see man who matches the description. You approach a guy who and ask him are you Joe Smith. The black man says no I’m not. The cops say you look like him. The guys you are wrong not and eventuallly starts insulting you.
Do you walk away? Because no criminal would ever lie to the police in this situation. What do you do as the cops?

You do understand what racial profiling is, right? Like no one here has to tell you that? Do you have any idea, any clue at all, how often black men are pulled over for… just being a black person. Like they’re looking for a black man and any black man will do.
I would consider someone attempting to manhandle and put me in cuffs for no reason while sitting around pretty fucking insulting but that’s me.
“All of those browns look alike, what’s a cop to do?” fills up a couple of spaces on my bingo card.
