It really feels like you’re not thinking this through.

Again, I have no no idea why you’re introducing this into the conversation, because what’s been happening in since the Civil Rights Movement isn’t cops declining to “cut people slack”. We’re talking about systemic abuse of power, directed at minorities. Cops are not and should not be allowed to let anger have any effect on how they discharge their duty. Yet you seem to be excusing it. Either that or just randomly introducing the fact that cops get mad. Who cares if they get mad? They have to conduct themselves and handle their anger differently because they’re cops.

I think you’re just backing yourself into a weird corner, so I’ll stop following up. But what you’re claiming is pretty much the opposite of common sense. It’s a weak justification during extreme events involving police anger, racism, and abuse of authority.

Yeah, there’s one flying overhead here in Ballard right now.

Okay, that was spit-take worthy, Thrag! Well played.

@thrag - seconded!

Let’s hope Trump doesn’t decide to take a stroll through Dam Square.

Just saw what I believe is the same type fly over us here south of Los Angeles.

The mind fucking boggles.

Why do you keep putting a comma between these two words? Stop it.

I appreciate the solidarity, but have we all just decided that Covid isn’t a thing now?

Trump has people building a wall around Lafayette Park, next to the White House.

It’s as if they worried their earlier headline was too honest. So here’s the Times back to it’s usual nonsense:

Some things are worth risking your life for.

I feel obligated to point out that it has never only, or even primarily, been about the lives of the people ignoring social distancing.

Given that it kills more black people than anyone else, it sort of is in this case.

And lots of people have been saying to quarantine and avoid the elderly and the like if you’ve been protesting.

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking this can’t continue on like this. I’ve even caught myself fantasizing that maybe he won’t be president this time next week. We’ve gamed out the nightmare election overthrow scenario… can we do the same with the removal from office scenario? What would that look like? Can the 25th amendment be our salvation? Can I see it now, please??

I’ve been waiting for someone to photoshop flames on to the bible. Seemed like low hanging fruit. Now someone needs to take it to the next level of an animated gif of him fumbling with it because it keeps catching fire where he touches it.
