Dropped my 17 year old off for his first parentless protest earlier today. (He came with my ex and I to SeaTac to protest the immigration ban a few years back.) A bit nerve-wracking given everything, but he was in a northeastern suburb supporting #BlackLivesMatter on the streetside and the police actually did their job of protecting the protestors and managing traffic. Proud of the kid – was a bit nervous, but he was feeling helpless and wanted to do something. No incidents, peaceful protest, lots of honks of support, and he’s home safe.

Cool of you to do. I can’t imagine my parents ever letting me choose the right way over the safest way.

It’s being reported since yesterday that Barr has (probably illegally) ordered the DEA to participate in law enforcement activities related to the protests. Reports are based on a leaked memo issuing the order, with a duration if the next two weeks. No one seems to know what they’ve been ordered to do, but my guess would be they’re using undercover DEA agents to infiltrate groups of protestors.

You are describing cops as being soldiers in a war… Where the enemy combatants are… The American people.

So, if that’s the case, then fuck the police, because they are our enemy.

War on drugs mostly, and there are plenty of guns. I’m in the camp where we should just legalize it all and spend that cop money on education and rehab services. Think of what a huge blow that would be to the institutions reinforcing this status quo, from cops to judges to prisons.

Well, the mayors and governors are Democrats. I think the heads of the police departments are national socialists, that seems to be the tradition.

The Minneapolis police chief isn’t bad. The police and police union don’t seem to think they need to listen to the mayor or the police chief, and the police union is run by white supremicists.

Responding to a tweet by Wall Street Journal reporter Tyler Blint-Welsh, who tweeted his ankle was injured and glasses knocked off when he was reportedly struck in the face by New York City police multiple times with riot shields despite wearing a press credential and holding his hands up, Senjo responded:

“Excellent. If I was the cop, you wouldn’t be able to tweet.”

In another tweet, @ProfSenjo referred to protesters vandalizing the CNN building in Atlanta, saying: “Nothing about this makes me happy but there’s this tiny sense of rightness in the burning of the CNN headquarters.”

Still another addressed a widely viewed video of New York Police Department vehicles that plowed into a crowd of protesters.

The tweet said: “That’s not how I would have driven the car into the crowd.”

I mean, Joint Chiefs should have an inkling, but surely general officers commanding divisions and active duty unites definitely have an idea for what sorts of orders their troops will be willing to carry out down the chain of command…and you get the feeling a lot of very high-ranking brass told Esper and Milley they’d better be careful.

This is another speculation about why the DEA.
