So he’s finally getting his wall?
What do we think the reason for this is? The protests in DC have been generally peaceful in the last couple of days so I don’t know why more fencing is needed. It may be just extra security IF things start getting out of control again, but with this President I am a bit worried that he is planning to escalate the situation and then turn the White House into a fortress.
That DJT is the biggest pansy we’ve ever had occupy the White House.
That much is obvious, but he’s also extremely insecure about it. As soon as people start calling him weak for putting up more fortification he will compulsively feel the need to flex his power. That worries me.
The extra WH fencing is starting to make the area look like it does in The Division 2.
I think the White House and DC in general is expecting a massive protest on Saturday and/or on Sunday.
I think this is a reasonable thing to fear. My own view is that the President is a reflexively frightened man, and also a reflexively aggressive one. He’s filling the nation’s capital with security forces and soldiers and building more fencing around the White House for the first reason, and he’s likely to lash out for the second one.
True. That’s a good point.
I mean he’s a narcissist - everything is about him. He sees the protests as not about being about racial justice or institutionalized police racial injustice, but about they’re coming after me. That’s why he’s utterly the wrong person at this time in American history, because he’s constitutionally incapable of seeing the effects of anything other than how this affects himself. Waving the bible and then building barriers have nothing to do with anyone or anything but Trump.
Maybe they will eventually get St Johns church inside the fencing so he can walk back and forth to it all day long for photo ops.
I think when the protestors started setting a White House guard shack on fire three or four nights ago, that’s what caused Trump to start excessively turtling up. I’m sure he wouldn’t be familiar with a reference to the White House and the War of 1812, but even in his mental state, he must be thinking “Fire bad!”
Angry woman yelling at looters has been ID’d as Desiree Barnes, former aide to Michelle Obama.
I’m glad you said this.
I have heard certain people in my area saying they just don’t understand why anyone would “stoop to violence” over one guy being killed.
I had to walk away. Don’t trust myself to say anything reasoned or logical or clever.
I want to vote for her for any office she chooses to run for.
Thought @triggercut would especially appreciate this.
Ha! Yep, I saw that. 52 new registered voters in Boone County/Columbia yesterday. And seeing other football teams today talking about doing something similar – I think Georgia Tech is following suit this week.
Also: I miss Jason Kander, but so glad he got the help he needed to get. I hope some day he gets back in the ring.
