It’s going to take juries convicting cops, and maybe even just as importantly, not convicting folks for attacking police if they felt threatened, for things to change.

One of the fixtures in the local soccer scene. Owns and operates an LGBT bar in a hard-hit area in this whole shit, and founded the Red Loons (the “socialist wing” of the MNUFC supporters club. Yeah, it’s some real Minneaplis shit).

In Salt Lake City:

It shouldn’t take white people being abused by police to force change. But I think that’s the reality.

Beating up an old man with a walking stick

“he was coming right at me!” to reference South Park. I wonder if that sketch is now the entirety of police training.

Passive voice alert: “sadly a man was just knocked off his feet”.

By what, reporter lady? Was it a strong gust of wind? Lunar tides? Bad vibes from Antifa activity in the neighborhood?

DC getting pretty pro-active about setting up free testing stations. If you, friends, or family have joined the protests here, get tested.

That’s why the next night they were back 50 feet.

Because their leadership knew they wouldn’t be able to control their shit.

I love this one – this really is how change happens:

BTW, that idea came from one of their (new) coaches.

And there’s a Buzzfeed reporter doing great work covering small protests in small towns across the country – spend a minute in her feed, and your optimism level will increase:

Just on the vid about Antifas Mormon Geriatric Branch

He was picked up by another officer
Who didnt report it
The only way they could identify the officer was spending hours pouring through footage

Yeah, that encapsulates the issue. There are bad cops who use violence against the innocent. There are ‘good cops’ who don’t do that, and who try to help people – but they still cover for the bad cops.

That’s why I was especially glad to see charges brought against the other officers at the scene of George Floyd’s death. Accountability for those who cover up crimes is every bit as important as charging the actual perp.

Not that surprisingly, cops think they’re not racist.

Eli Drinkwitz has been just impressive as hell since taking over the team in December.

Also seen marching there (tall guy in the white shirt on the right) is Cuonzo Martin, who if he decides to leave basketball coaching, should probably run for office.

Fucker keeps wasting all his AP. He calls the troops in, sends them back, calls them in, sends them back all in the space of 24 hours?

“Never interrupt the enemy when he is making a mistake.”

I love these two headlines in that US Army message.

“Ivy Soldiers Participate in Best Warrior Competition” followed by “Ivy Tuba Player Wins Award”.

Way to go, 4th Infantry tuba soldier!

Government by Civ6 AI.

Worthless fucker got booed offstage. Hey Bill…the cops hate your guts and now your former allies aren’t too fond of you either.

I don’t know much about De Blasio other than what I’ve seen in headlines regarding COVID-19 and the protests. He seems like an inept sack of shit.
