And then a member of his party cheered him for it before going to his job where he denounced the CCP for what they did.
Like, you couldn’t make that shit up.
Bleeding from the ear after head trauma like that is a skull fracture until proven otherwise.
Wrong things on so many levels. It looks like the cop that shoved that man initially tried to do the right thing and kneel down at his side but then another cop pushes him forward.
All these police officers receive BLS training as first responders and usually have to complete certification every two years.
That poor man should have been immediately assessed. There should have been multiple cops at his side to check to see if he is arousable, breathing and has a pulse. So every cop in that video failed their training when they failed to help that man.
I think you can see that cop’s brain saying “oh shit,” when he realized he pushed too hard. Which is definitely a culpable action. The much more damning thing, in my mind, is just walking past a bleeding man when you know damn well you fucked up. I think you can see this struggle in that cop’s behavior and it’s why he starts to kneel by the victim’s side. But then the cop’s fucking lizard brain takes over and he starts thinking about himself, he makes the wrong decision, and keeps moving.
The video shows he was ultimately attended to by National Guard. It’s kind of sad. My hope is that at some point, the National Guard or military steps in between the police and protestors, and upholding their oath to the American people.

I used to think that one of the reasons that US cops were so deplorable was because of the lack of gun control (with racism being another one of course). When everyone and their dog has a gun, it must be pretty scary to roam the streets of a highly unequal society to protect the 1% for piss poor wages.
That is probably still true, but it’s clearly not even a major one. It is astonishing to see the sheer scale of brutality on display here against people that very obviously have no weapon whatsoever. Old man? Pfft, push him to his death and walk away. Pregnant lady in a car? Pfft, gas it and then fire rubber bullets at the husband for daring to say something. Person with their hands up? Well thanks mate, you’ve made it very easy to beat you now. Little kid in their parents arms? Well, those little eyes and soft skin just make you more susceptible to this mace I got here. Press? Haha, I have been waiting all day to give you a good punch right on camera.
It would be the ultimate irony for the factory of killbots that is the US Army to somehow become the more reasonable arm of the government in all of this.
The video I saw was only a minute long, do you have the link to the longer version?
Tom Cotton may need to call in the 101st to pacify the cops.
Angry old white guy. I notice he didn’t get beat down by the cops for whatever reason.
I don’t, sorry! You can see in the same video that military uniformed people are the ones giving aid (while the police walk on by).
Yeah, you’re right. I missed that at the end. I guess that gives me a little hope that someone remembers their training.
This is why Trump didn’t activate the active duty troops. He knew that’s what would happen.
The troops are just as furious as the American people.
Right now the generals are trying to avoid setting the precedent of the military refusing orders outright or getting political themselves, which is a good thing to do. They may be forced into it by Trump.
NYC, right now the police are having to work 12 hrs every day. The protestors know this, and they think their best tactic right now is to keep up the pressure for so long that the cops break and start quitting. They’ve gotten desperate enough for manpower that they’re graduating their trainees early now
Also folks are intentionally pissing in police cars because of COVID protocols. If they piss in the car, the car has to be out of commission for three days and that means more cops have to hoof it and get tired out more.
I’m hoping that happens. The Joint Chiefs essentially issued that order.

12 hour shifts? Most folks generally call it a day after 8 hours of brutalizing people. Truly, they have earned the title of “New York’s Finest”.
Also:
Twitter said the video on the president’s campaign account was affected by its copyright policy.
“We respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorized representatives,” a Twitter representative said.
Better watch out, Trump. Lars is always watching.

Police training and military training are only the same in the killing part.
Soldiers have much tighter rules of engagement and expectations. And they’re the ones literally in war zones.
At the end of the day, elected officials can scourge these departments of the filth, salt the lands the PDs stood on, and start fresh…or their constituents are going to do it for them, and I suspect not nearly as gently.
I’d say nothing of value lost either way, but I’d hate to see a thriving patriotic American hero burn their hand while torching another one of these thugs’ fortresses, so hopefully the pols step up soon.

Update thread on Arbery, I might’ve missed it if it was posted earlier:
