Netflix actually put the whole thing up on YouTube for anyone to watch for free:
Someone should tell him that people in positions of power who deserve respect, always get it. If you’re in that situation and you need to ask for it, that’s the surest sign that you’re not deserving of it.

Btw here is a really good review of the 13th that clarifies quite a bit and also calls them out on a few inaccuracies as well as areas they wish the movie had focused more on.

This police department is about 50% white, yet I see maybe 1? non-white-male of more than 30 in this dudebro leadership response.

“Can you tell me why I should mourn for him? Other than that it’s the white thing to do — other than that, give me another reason,” Glassman answered, according to the outlet. “We’re not mourning for George Floyd — I don’t think me or any of my staff are.” Glassman also questioned systemic racism and the motives of protesters, BuzzFeed wrote.
No, motherfucker, we all know what the white thing to do is. That’s how we fucking got here.
“On Saturday I created a rift in the CrossFit community and unintentionally hurt many of its members,” Glassman said in a statement announcing his retirement. “I cannot let my behavior stand in the way of HQ’s or affiliates’ missions. They are too important to jeopardize.”
Hell of an apology.
I’ve watched movie analysis and apparently Gone With the Wind was made very much to be a denouncement of the Confederacy but I can’t say it ever felt that way at all from what I remember.
But then, we can always find what we want to find in stories if we look hard enough, so I dunno.

It’s an incredibly racist movie, plays to all the stereotypes in the most extreme measures possible. They even treated that actress like garbage after giving her an award for it. I am not in favor of banning anything, but maybe they should add some context to it, so people not viewing it through a competent school system can stop trying to pretend that stuff isn’t there and obvious despite its achievements.
Gone with the wind is the foundation of lost cause ideology and deeply racist to its core.
The book is a spectacularly racist, anti-Federal screed.
And yet, I still don’t think just making it disappear helps anything much. As Nesrie says, contextualize it.
There are a great many films that would work fine as lessons about the times in which they were made, about the situations of the actors, about Hollywood’s relationship with the rest of the country, etc. Certainly things like Birth of a Nation, Song of the South. Hell, even Blazing Saddles gets chopped up and neutered these days. Instead, how about we take the opportunity to TEACH with these artifacts?

And then there’s this cop’s take.
“All of the research says we’re shooting African-Americans about 24 percent less than we probably ought to be, based on the crimes being committed.” Speaking about systematic abuse of power and racism in U.S. police forces, he said: “That just doesn’t exist.”
Gone with the Wind isn’t disappearing, just not gonna be on HBO Max.
For the “it’s not racism, it’s class” people:

So on Disney Plus there is a little blurb on older movies about how the film was ‘made in a previous era and may contain offensive or insensitive depictions of different racial groups’ or something to that effect.
Which strikes me as the absolute bare minimum, but still probably insufficient. Since it is easy to miss, and doesn’t really contextualize things for people who aren’t already aware of it.
Even setting the racism to one side, Gone With the Wind is an excellent example of the text saying one thing and the subtext saying something else. While the opening crawl and Rhett Butler at the start both say, “This civilization is doomed to be destroyed,” everything about the opening third says, “But weren’t the dresses gorgeous? Isn’t this ball divine? Wouldn’t you like to be waited on hand and foot?” (See also: every Merchant-Ivory movie, which end up being paeans to the glories of the English Empire despite wanting to be the opposite.)
And that’s not even getting into the character of Scarlett O’Hara, who was in her time the best-known example a very problematic character archetype. She exemplifies what might be called the Jeff Winger rules: a) it’s perfectly OK to be a jerk if you’re the lead, b) being a jerk is what defines your coolness, and c) so long as you say you’re sorry or look sad at the end of the episode, everyone must forgive you.* Then you can do it all again in the next one!
Though when you spell it out that way, it’s obviously more accurate to call them the white privilege rules.
(In some sense I shouldn’t bag on Community, since the writers used the character of Jeff to point out/make fun of/deconstruct the archetype. But much like Bart Simpson before him, I think Jeff got away from the writers, because the archetype is so much more attractive than the commentary on it.)
*Though Gone with the Wind is a notable exception in that at the end Rhett doesn’t forgive Scarlett. But the key thing is the audience is still expected to feel sorry for her in the final scene because, gosh darn it, she has so much pluck and confidence!

Disney+ has a weird line to walk, they’re catering to an entire family, including kids which is why the fur butt Splash. HBO Max will definitely have kids on it because parents will over or underestimate their children’s ability to process this stuff… but I don’t know they’re actually targeting kids explicitly.
You can’t force people to digest stuff who just refuse to do it. FBI warnings are still there, so yeah they can do better and should just try. They’re taking a stand, and there will always be people, usually white, that huff and try to faint or rage at even the idea of it.
They just can’t help themselves in digging their own grave. Tough luck, they’re not the president, and they’re disposable.
This Southern SJW movie maker makes a pretty good case for the movie actually trying to be progressive and showing the Confederacy in a bad light:

But if you need to have movie studies or a movie making degree or be an English lit major or whatever to be able to see the critic a movie is making, heh, maybe you should turn it up a bit.
