Not trying to pick on you, but the guy was driving while drunk, or rather, he fell asleep while driving drunk. He clearly didn’t deserve to be outright killed after that but it’s fortunate he didn’t kill anyone in an accident before falling asleep at the Wendy’s. His alcohol limit was .108 when they did the test, so it was likely even higher earlier. His BA after sleeping for a bit was still .028 over the legal limit or 35% higher.
Fuck anyone that drives drunk, whatever their race. He deserved to be arrested and taken in, but obviously not killed for running away.

That seems like a bit of an assumption. If someone was asleep in the car in front of me at a drive-through, I’d almost definitely call the police. Something’s clearly wrong with them. I don’t want a drunk driver on the road, whatever their race. Though lately I’d probably be more hesitant if they were black, given how dangerously that’s usually played out.

There’s an infamous presentation that Reed Hastings made about Netflix’s culture. I’ll link it below, but the TL;DR is that Netflix believes in hiring great people and getting out of their way. They are very high on trust - there’s no vacation or sick policy, no prescribed hours of work.
They’re also quite ruthless about letting underperformers go, but again, it’s part of the culture.
Exactly right, and (as you say) it should be that way for anyone. No one should be getting off with a warning if drunk driving.
