I worry it’s going to become a vector for kids bullying.
My wife and I are to come up with names right now and it’s occurred to me that yeah, this kind of thing is completely impossible to predict and could absolutely make things rough on a child.

I still have a few friends who named their daughter Daenerys.
My ex is named Karen.
It’s a perfect fucking epithet and even my wife agrees.

There’s a Khaleesi at my kid’s elementary school. That was… unfortunate.
Eight Minutes! That’s like 2 and a half Diet Cokes!

This guy is great… I just noticed that he has a shirt with 3 Mike pence heads howling like wolves.
Apparently the Atlanta Cops are doing an unoffical strike now. Keisha Bottoms needs to fire the strikers and bust their union.
“It’s only a few bad apples.”
I have mixed feelings about union busting. I get it that the police unions protect bad cops, but that’s what all unions do – protect their members.
I get it, I feel the same way. I figured out where I draw the line- and have decided that I think unionization should never apply to jobs that can use government sanctioned force against others. So police and military should never be allowed to unionize. That’s a pretty narrow exception.
The APD thugs are proving why police unions should be discredited by the entire union movement (I’m union myself, they’re not worth anything so I got no problem selling something worthless out)
The CPS is the UK state prosecutor. They decide whether or not to press charges and take a case to court
and their senior lawyers are openly racist white supremacists who support banned neonazi terrorist groups.
Will minorities be treated fairly by the system? Of course not.
And the highest levels of govt oppose BLM.

Lame racist rationalization #439
For millennia, kneeling has been used as a sign of respect but this idiot wont do it because of Game of Thrones?
I respect his right to kneel or not kneel as he chooses but seriously? Game of Thrones?

That’s my instinct, too. On the other hand, are there another industry unions that protect their members when their members e.g. commit murder? I think policing is different because we empower police officers to use state-sanctioned deadly force.
I’m not totally sure how it works with police, but my impression is that their performance is evaluated by their supervisors, who are also in the same union.
This is completely different than my union, where the job protections are put in to protect us from our supervisors who are in a different union or not unionized.
If I’m right, thats a really large check/balance that is lost that compounds the force problem you stated.

He sells them, though apparently people are trying to hijack his idea.
I suddenly feel like rewatching season 3 of the wire. We need the Hamsterdam experiment to actually happen.
