Copy the EU. Has other issues though.

I guess one positive side benefit of all those suburban moms and families showing up at the protest is apparently they have access to lawn care equipment.

Moms holding the line and Dads showing up with leaf blowers to combat the chemical warfare waged against them. This is America.

Every once in awhile there’s still something small to give one hope.

Give 'em hell, guys and gals.

Thanks for the reference. On the entertainment side, Colleen McCullough’s most excellent series of novels on Rome effectively details the deterioration of the Mos Maiorum from Gauis Marius through the end of the Antony / Octavian civil war.

Want to talk about white privilege and biased sentencing? This murderer (who is white) had 230 felonies in his arrest record.

How the hell do you wrack up 230 felonies?

Let’s see, it says he got his first at 12 yo and he’s 26. That’s like 1.3 felonies a month for 14 years. Obviously they would come in bunches, but what the hell? Could it be a misprint?

Edit: I see it says charges, not convictions. Not sure if that means anything.

I can’t fathom 230 felony charges where zero of them stuck or had you serve any time.

Then again, it is Florida.

Have you met our president?

Is he a policeman?

The nicest guys:

So the officer that murdered George Floyd and his nearly-ex-wife are accused of not doing their taxes for the last few years. Police that work offduty jobs must be exhausted but they’re pulling in beaucoup bucks. When I worked at a downtown bookstore that required an offduty cop, they were pulling in $40 an hour to stand around and sometimes make shoplifting arrests, and that was fifteen years ago.

(This isn’t quite related to BLM as most of the posts in this thread, but this guy triggered a nationwide resurgence of the movement, so…)

Why would you pay someone $40 an hour when you could just have someone just as competent and less likely to kill an innocent person who can do it for $15?

Insurance.

Insurance.

Also, I can’t possibly express my incandescent rage at the entire Minneapolis police department.

Remember. Derek Chauvin is a symptom of a much worse disease.

I feel like it’s only a matter of time before we get some sort of incident like a deployed CBP soldier teargassing his own mother or other relative. Or maybe a brawl breaks out between soldiers of first and second platoon of Charlie Company because somebody’s sister was hospitalized after protesting near these soldiers’ area of operation.

I recently purchased my first leaf blower to clean my new deck of all the leaves and twigs that it accumulates, and I love it. It’s fantastic and I didn’t even know it was an antifa defense weapon. Now I love it even more.
