So, I don’t know what the context of that video is. It doesn’t matter, though. Who the fuck are these people? Where are they taking her? If that is your friend or family, how do you follow up and make sure they’re okay? How do you get a lawyer over there?
This is police state shit. One of these times, it’s going to result in shooting and someone (probably multiple someones) getting killed. I know that’s kind of the point, to escalate and create violence for Trump’s re-election, but WTF.

Yeah - as another non-USAian, I have to say this whole “people being snatched in the street” thing certainly feels like a line has been crossed.
Up until now, this has seemed like just the “America, Fuck Yeah!” version of issues which also exist here (in Australia), albeit in smaller doses… police brutality, mistreatment of minorities, etc.
But people being kidnapped by unmarked goons in broad daylight?? WTF? I just honestly can’t even imagine that happening - and it just seems so “failed state”.
I hope you guys ride it out okay!

My trust in police has been irreparably damaged. And I’m not the type of person who you would expect to have a distrust of the police. White, male, rural upbringing, middle class. They’ve basically destroyed their standing amongst society for a generation.
I think toward the end of the video you see uniformed bike police show up to keep people away from the van. So it was eventually clear it was police, but not up until that point.
Also the NYPD says the unmarked van is deliberate. Which is bad.

It’s hard to understand why anyone working in law enforcement would think this is a good idea.
Even the right-wing goon squad who thought this up ought to have second thoughts. Do they want to a crack down on Police legislation? Because this seems like the perfect way to ensure that Biden and the Democrats are forced to actually do something about this, once (if) they win the election.

Let’s take this at face value: this person damaged police cameras. Unless your intent is to instill fear and to escalate, why would you apprehend her in this way?
I feel as though this country is becoming a police state right before my eyes. I sure hope America pushes back and pushes back hard in November, although I worry it’ll just give us a few years of breathing room. I’m really worried about the direction the country is heading in.
