I was thinking that a VP normal job is to go to funerals of important people, as Bush 41 said, “you die and I fly”. I think Obama likes giving speeches like this, and he’s so great at it, Joe should really employ him as Ambassador at large. If some VIP in France, Netherlands etc. die or there is an important event, having Obama represent the US will really help our standing.

That’s an excellent idea. I think people outside the U.S. love Obama. When we were visting St. John’s, Newfoundland last year we were surprised to learn Obama was coming there the next week to give a speech – I bumped into a Secret Service guy at a bar scouting the city ahead of time who told me. Anyway, his speech sold out in something like 30 minutes when the tickets went on sale. People were excited to see him. St. John’s is apparently a liberal town.
