Apparently the cops didn’t detain the shooter, now identified as one Kyle Rittenhouse of Illinois, at the scene. But since then several officers have been witnessed asking if anyone has “seen Kyle”.

Like I said, the cops are way down the street. They aren’t near the cameraman.
Just watched it again, and the cop in the one truck asks the dude “There’s someone injured straight ahead?” I don’t think the cops had any idea what had just happened. They had pulled around the corner after the stuff happened. It looks like the shooter guy told them someone was injured up ahead (while some other folks are saying that someone got shot and they need to get down there), and then they speed off in that direction.

I mean, he seems like a real nice boy. I wouldn’t want a murder or assault conviction to keep him from getting into a good school, you know?

He had a smoking gun and there were bodies in the street but there was no indication they weren’t just sleeping. It was late at night, after all.

I guess he needed to throw himself onto the cop car for them to grab him. I think in one video it looked like he was walking/running up to them with his hands in the air and they just pulled away and headed down the street.
