Yeah but they’ll have to commute to a Phoenix suburb so they’ll be inconvenienced in their new job at least.
OK that officer their interviewing is an ass. At the end, “poor us, we get bad calls now. Woe is me!” Not a single word of compassion for that poor family.

Should be x-posted to Stupid Shit on FB…this black man’s traffic stop went GREAT. If yours doesn’t and you’re shot and killed, you didn’t respect police enough.

It’s basically the response from the Cop Shooting thread by the Popehat guys in the flesh.
The main problem with that facebook thing is yes, of course you should be careful. But it’s literally victim blaming.
That post is literally “why aren’t we talking about all the black people who the police don’t shoot?”
The police are irreparably broken. Time to shit-can all of them and start over.
Now if only they could ban man buns.

I am hopeful that a fair amount of people know the hair… is not a minor thing for the black community.

I am not mocking the problem. The girl behind me at work recently changed her hair. She said it took her sister 6 hours to get the desired look. I wouldn’t mock anyone who sits thru something like that. Hair is just one way to look different and for some people that is somehow a negative. As someone who had shoulder length hair for years I try not to base any judgement on hair.

Well appreciating styles, art… statements are important. The fact of the matter is, there are certain types of hair that have been targeted in the professional field as a means to oust people for not conforming to what lop-sided ideas of beauty and more than a few school districts out there banning hair and hair styles that minority groups use under unfair dress codes.
There have been decades, generations of what some would called subtle attacks / racism against these traditions but when the schools start banning kids for having them… it got out of hand… has been for a long time but to see them written and advertised due to school system policies, yikes.

This notion that people can just be pieces of shit, but it’s just for the lulz, so it’s not fair to hold them accountalbe, is bullshit.
It’s the fundamental basis of most of these 4chan trash. They’re acting out their shitty dreams, and then trying to use naivete as some sort of shield.
Nah, fuck that noise. A man’s game charges a man’s price.

It’s a longer piece with several key points but another one was how surprised the community at large was that this happened… but not the black students, not the black families who dealt with it for years.
How they were caught was kind of interesting too. The sign of the times. Years ago they probably wouldn’t have been identified.
“Pleasantville,” Burton liked to call it, but as a black man, and as the principal of the county’s only majority-white school, he knew this place was more complicated.
Hell, I actually live in Pleasantville and in the nine years since we moved here, we’ve had this and this and this.

Aaaw, that last one is so sad. The others are… bad but man that last story.
Yeah, that story would have exploded nationally if it had happened a few years later. I guess that’s progress?
Yes, ironic/not-ironic evil is one of the most odious developments of the 21st century.
