The DALL-E mini images (that are interesting)

I don’t see any feet so it checks out.

The most important part of this site is the little blurb under the “Bias and Limitations” drop down arrow. It reads:

While the capabilities of image generation models are impressive, they may also reinforce or exacerbate societal biases. While the extent and nature of the biases of the DALL·E mini model have yet to be fully documented, given the fact that the model was trained on unfiltered data from the Internet, it may generate images that contain stereotypes against minority groups. Work to analyze the nature and extent of these limitations is ongoing, and will be documented in more detail in the DALL·E mini model card.

This is a big issue in digital humanities, as well as in AI in general. For instance, because these algorithms spider up stuff from Web, and because on the Web there a disproportionate concentration of images of women are pornographic, the ability of the software to generate images associated with woman or female is affected. Similar issues happen on the axes of race, class, ability, and a host of other things. The term “art” for instance is likely to resolve to some assortment of stuff drawn from European cultural norms, stuff like that.

But on a lighter note:

I don’t see a single crown.

This one is “Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby Ride A Roller Coaster”

I love riffing off of other peoples prompts to see how the AI responds.
