The decline to moral bankruptcy of the GOP

Greitens trying to hold on as MoGov, but that may be getting more and more difficult.

It’s challenging to satirized Trump but the Onion still manages.

I feel like I am missing something here… an adult film star, these are shows/movies with actual sex in them, would have their career ruined by having sex with an unfortunate celebrity… why?

Are you missing that it’s an Onion story?

Yep…and I usually do too. It looks just like msn.com

LOL - yeah, that’s actually true.

It’s a play on this story:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/report-trump-lawyer-brokered-130000-payment-to-porn-star/2018/01/12/0fc865be-f7e1-11e7-9af7-a50bc3300042_story.html?utm_term=.dfa7e6c0f2b0

Yeah I saw that briefly. I don’t care who Trump has sex with as long as it’s legal really. He certainly didn’t get his office by being pro-woman, or loyal to one woman, or you know anything remotely positive about any woman in general. He sees women as objects, and a porn star would be no different.

You’re just bound and determined to completely miss the joke, aren’t you.

That’s a response to Magnet showing the real story.

And my knowledge of the porn industry is almost… zero, so no I don’t instant think Porn Stars and whatever they do with celebrities is a gag. I don’t think about Porn pretty much… ever.

So, I didnt want to start a thread about it but if I did then it would be called
“The quiet ostracism of Republicans in the United States”

Namely:
Republican friends and even family are slowly and quietly not invited to social gatherings, playdates with kids whose parents are Republicans are de prioritized, on social media people are either blocked or filtered. The most common refrain being “I just dont want to be around the kind of person who could think that way.”

So, is this just California bias coming into play? Because I have noticed and actually spoken directly with several old colleagues and friends about this who have confirmed they are, have seen it or are doing it themselves.

This is not just die hard liberals either, but just your normal majority of the country kind of person who just is so morally repelled by what Republicans have become they dont want to be around them any more.

Is this an actual thing? I am curious if this is just extreme sample bias on my part.

Replace “Republican” with “voted for Trump” and, yeah, it’s absolutely a thing.

Interesting. Yeah its usually Trump that was the thing. But I think as time goes on Trump = The Republican Party’s values if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the answer. I find it very interesting, this (if true) spontaneous folk level movement might actually be happening across the country without any of us really noticing it, with no organizers. Huh.

At this point, GOP has very little left which could be even remotely seen as good. Its ideology is comprised entirely of a willful ignorance and intentional deception.

Trump lies constantly. Literally every day, multiple times. He has literally no moral foundation. The GOP has revealed itself to be built around a truly profound hypocrisy, where they don’t actually stand for ANYTHING they said they did. Family values? Nope. Individual liberty and responsibility? Nope. Law and order lol nope.

It’s literally nothing but filth at this point. There is no redeeming value.

So if someone continues to support that? Then that person has problems. They are a bad person.

I don’t willingly associate with anyone who voted for Trump. I removed most of them from my wall a year ago, and they don’t come to my parties unless they want to wipe their ass with my Trump toilet paper (kidding, that was given to me by a friend, and I won’t be using anything with that much ink on it).

Seriously though, it’s not just CA.

The Social Media bubble talks going on in tech, bah. It’s not that they disagree with me, they post sexist, racist, vile shit every day. I’m not putting up with that anymore.

The fact that you keep saying “celebrity” seems to indicate you missed a critical part of the joke.

Could be.

This has to be the way that the zeitgeist of this era is defined.

I admit I’ve done this. To a whole swath of people. I am just getting older and really don’t have to spend time being nice with people who I absolutely do not have anything in common with.

Now, I do have several friends and family who are notoriously repoublican, but we’ve been good friends for a long time & while I disagree, we still have a lot in common so I still talk with them. We just avoid politics.

You spelled Rethuglican wrong.

Let me explain that this is a joke. A very small joke.
