a) Heh yeah, saw that and had the same reaction.

b) Serious question: Do you scrape the site with some kind of grammar bot?

I’m just drawn that way.

Haha, eggcorn! I’m blushing, but that’s hilarious. Thank you, by the way!

Is that some sort of corny yolk?

My local methodist church has had a big sign on their front lawn for the last year that says ‘God doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we’ Kind of what you’d expect from a christian organization, right?

United Methodists tend to be very chill in general, and it takes a lot to piss them off. My dad is a UM minister, and he’s livid at Sessions. The biblical passage that Sessions used was used in the past to justify things such as slavery.

I’m sure that’s why he likes it so much.

80% chance it’s embroidered on something in Sessions’ home.

IIRC, @ArmandoPenblade has some plans for Sessions grave. I’m ready to join that party. Sessions is a dirtbag of the lowest order.

What I don’t get though is why Trump hates him. Can someone ELI5?

Why Trump hates sessions?
Because he expects Sessions to end Mueller’s investigation, and protect Trump from it.

And Sessions won’t do that, due to the blatently obvious ethical issues surrounding it.

So Trump hates him.

McConnell’s and Ryan’s, but I take a lot of shits on any given day, so I’m happy to add Sessions’ lich-crypt to the list.

He could be added to any fantasy game as an elf lich.

There’s a long list to be shat upon…

The one and only thing narcissist Trump cares about is - I almost wrote “loyalty,” but loyalty normally implies some amount of reciprocity. Trump is loyal to no one himself.

So not loyalty: subservience. Trump demands subservience from everyone around him. Trump must be the first and only thing in their lives, at least when he’s looking. Politics and ideology come a distant second: you must be Trump’s man first and foremost.

But Sessions is interested in something more than just being Trump’s man. He genuinely wants to be Attorney General of the United States more than anything else - in order to do terrible, terrible things, yes; but he views his office as more important than licking Trump’s boots.

So Sessions refuses to do certain things Trump demands of him as a test of subservience, like shutting down the Russia investigation. Sessions knows if he gave in to Trump, he’d end up out on the street as collateral damage, like the army of others who have been forced or fled from the Administration. So Sessions recused himself, knowing full well that the combination of dirt he has on Trump and his many contacts in Congress give him power to stop even bullheaded Trump from firing him outright.

This infuriates Trump: someone he thought was in his pocket is defying his will.

Svirfneblin always did have good saving throws.

It’s weird in that while Sessions has morally questionable positions, I think he does in fact have some notion of actual ethics. He’s like… lawful evil?

I think he wanted to push the death penalty on people with drug offenses. Is it really LE when you just want permission to murder? I’m sure he’s changed his mind since, at least publicly.

Oh wow. Thanks for the replies. I thought they were both peas in a pod with their racist policies. So Trump hates Sessions for not being as openly and brazenly corrupt to benefit Trump.

Trump hates Sessions for not being a proper lap dog. That doesn’t make Sessions a good guy by the way.

Yes, because you want permission.

CE would just murder them without regard to the rules (like Trump).
