But he was cute when he couldn’t put on a poncho and when he painted sad pictures and when he gave candy to Michelle Obama don’t we love ol Georgie now he’s just a lovable simpleton awww

Yep, pretty much. It’s good that people are reminded a bit of what the guy stands for with this endorsement.

I’m kind of confused by some of these headlines I see. Are people like GWB and other Republicans who disagree with Trump supposed to suddenly turn into Democrats/liberals because they can plainly see what a disaster he is?

I think it’s possible for someone to be for 80% of the Republican agenda (less tax burden on corporations and the wealthy, bombing brown people, etc) while still realizing what a trainwreck the Trump administration is. That doesn’t make them your friend, but they are the enemy of your enemy.

Tell that to the anonymous NYT op-ed secret cabal of heroes.

That’s another example. People pointed out that the dork who wrote the Op-Ed was all praising lower taxes and other things like that. Well no shit, it’s a Republican. You can be for all those things and still realize Trump is a deranged toddler.

I just feel like people are expecting them to see the error of their ways, like because they acknowledge Trump is bad then they should follow through by reforming their entire political philosophy. It’s not going to happen. They’re still shitty Republicans, they’re just not ludicrously gross ones like Trump.

Until and unless Republicans are willing to confront, check and push back against trump’s accesses, it doesn’t matter what they say. They’re complicit. That doesn’t mean they have to campaign for Democrats or turn into flaming communists, but so long as they continue to work for Republican candidates they are empowering trump.

(That trump is a symptom that is the rot of the GOP is an entirely different discussion.)

Well, this is “The decline to moral bankruptcy of the GOP” thread.

Republicans’ newly minted nominee to face Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH) this fall recently defended gay conversion therapy, a deeply controversial practice of treating homosexuality and transgender identity as mental illnesses or addictions that can be cured.

Seems like standard Republican agenda stuff to me.

God I loved Mr. Show so much.

…except for the part where they basically do nothing at all to oppose your enemy.

I don’t think they’re really enemies. Let’s say you buy a new puppy to meet chicks at the park. Then your puppy starts shitting all over the place, pissing on your feet, and generally being a real asshole. Sure, you’re annoyed as hell and you probably complain bitterly to everyone that will listen. But hey, at least at the end of the day you were able to use your puppy to get those tax breaks so you just sort of deal with your new yellow stained shoes.

Because they don’t die as quickly?

I never saw Tobias Funke v1 until now.
