“Yeah, we should totally make it impossible for Nazis and their minions to lead normal lives in public.”

I guess I don’t see the problem with that formulation. Where is it, exactly?

Honestly, I think what we do is take their children away and put them in cages and then tell The Republicans that if they ever want to see their children again they have to leave the country. And then we don’t give them their children back because we lost them.

Or maybe that’s too harsh. Let me think… No, that’s not too harsh. Fuck them and their Facist agenda

I’m totally down with absolutely ruining the lives of people like Mitch McConnell.

Like, forever.

Even after he leaves office. Just totally ruin his life. Make him miserable, forever, until he dies.

I’m totally serious.

And then Armando completes the cycle by shitting on his grave. Done!

I’m with Timex here. Hope these fucks tipped their interior decorators, because they are gonna be indoors for a long time.

I’m thinking a mixture of Zaxby’s, Taco Bell, and a distressingly cheap strip mall sushi joint for ol Mitch, but I’ve still got time to perfect the formula.

Turtle doesn’t deserve the honor of providing nutrients to green, growing things. In all likelihood, the result would be a dark horror birthed from his putrid, soulless carcass. Best to burn it and fire the ash into space.

The term “resistors” and “resistance” started among Progressives who decided the best course of action was to resist the Trump agenda in any way possible. Various right wing sources have, of course, pointed resistance as being a bad thing.

It’s somewhat related to women knitting hats with the electrical resistor symbol although the focus there started as being about science and science policy. I’ve also seen resistors (the real physical electric component) being used as the slider in a zipper.

As long as you don’t mind when right wingers start doing the same to democrats. And they will at some point. It will be wonderful for the country when politics becomes a social event, when eating out makes you a target. I have as little respect for McConnell as any on this forum, I just don’t want to see things degrade to that point.

It’s ok if Republicans mock rape survivors in public, or take away black people and native people’s voting rights, or put children in cages. As long as we don’t provoke them into annoying us at restaurants!

Well, they already camp out in front the houses of people they don’t like (say, abortion providers), call 911 on those people (with the attendant threat of death at the hands of police), and send rape and/or death threats. I feel if they tone it down to tossing left-overs out the door, we’ll be making progress.

Or what JoshL said. Caging children is one thing, but heaven’s, let’s not be uncivil about it!

Like how they treated Colin Kaepernick?

They started long ago.

They did it to Biden years ago and then the GOP invited the dude to a rally.

The ship sailed on this long ago - except they attack regular people who say the wrong thing on Twitter, whereas these folks are attacking the actual evil fucks who empower this horrid ideology. And they will cry foul about how both sides do it regardless of the truth. So yeah, no more calm public appearances for people who have betrayed the public trust.

Their actions say, “We have a bare majority in the representative government, which technically means we don’t have to give a fuck about what the majority of the populace thinks, only the minority who voted for us; in particular the tiny few who funded us.”

Lets disabuse them of the notion that their only responsibility is to power and the barest minimum of votes required to maintain it. If they run the whole government, they represent the whole country. If the only way to enforce that is physically, well there’s no reason the balance of forces should favor the brownshirts.

Krugman’s saying what I’ve been saying for a while now. This is how democracy dies. We can win this next election and they’ll seat those congressmen but then they’re going to deny that they have any power. They’ll only recognize the authority and laws of their choosing. Same for whatever Mueller finds. They’re above the law now because none of it matters to them. They’ll make their own rules

This is how you end up with guillotines and gulags.

Goodness, this slope, it is so slippery.
