The Division 2 - Make Washington D.C. Great Again

@ShakesMcQueen what’s your take on the different weapon classes when it comes to pve? I just hit WT4 last night and a friend helped me gear up to 450 quickly but I’d like to make a little more specialised sets for BP farming before WT5 hits.

Strongly leaning towards ARs at the moment.

Same here. AR’s with the +30 round magazine mod are my preferred weapon now, with the maxed out damage perk in the survivalist specialization. More damage and rounds than SMGs, and more accurate than the LMGs.

Yeah that was my exact same line of thinking. An F2000 (I think) can get 73 bullets per mag which is huge when you factor in reload speed.

Do you have any favourite ARs? Damage ranges seem to vary a lot.

Can someone explain the WT stuff you guys are talking about. So from what I understand when you hit level 30, you reset the world and have to replay all the main mission content again.

So @Bateau , you did all the main mission content 4x ?

No, the way it works is that you do main missions to unlock strongholds and then every time you run a stronghold you automatically advance a tier. So to get from level 30 to tier 4 I ran 4 or 5 main missions and 3 strongholds, once each.

No - at lvl 30 and after finishing all of the strongholds, you enter “World Tier 1”, which converts your character from “levels” to “gear score” instead (you start at GS 250). At that point you have to do a couple of missions and grind to a specific gear score, at which point you’ll be eligible to do one of the “invaded” stronghold variants, which are filled with Black Tusk enemies instead of the usual factions and are more difficult (BT enemies have tons of drones and RC cars and stuff).

Upon finishing that invaded stronghold, you hit World Tier 2, and do it again - this time ending in one of the other two strongholds being “invaded” - rinse and repeat until you hit World Tier 4, which has a soft GS cap of 450 for now.

Some other stuff changes too, every time you hit a new tier - for example, control points actually become contested, and change hands between factions constantly (including yours).

Ah ok, so what about the settlements and control points, do they ever reset?

Control points never completely reset - they just become warred over, and change hands. You can go and “retake” them if you want, which gives you the supply rewards all over again. World Tier 4 also ties other world events in the area to control points, and completing those events “levels up” the alert level of the CPs, making them harder to take, but also giving you better rewards.

Settlements don’t reset either - but I did encounter one getting “locked down”, which prevents you from fast traveling to them, until you break the siege by clearing the related blockade event.

Beyond that, there’s other stuff - you unlock the daily and weekly projects, “Challenging” difficulty, etc.

The end-game stuff in TD2 is really neat; it’s just way too quick to blow through, in my opinion.

Wow that all sounds awesome. :D

You can get the blueprint to upgrade the chatterbox to the next tier.

So if I made it now, I’d be able to upgrade it when WT5 rolls around? Where does the upgrade blueprint come from?

My fear was just that if I made it now, I’d have to go out and re-acquire a bunch of stuff to make the GS 500 (or 510?) version of it when WT5 drops.

It is cool… they just need to restructure the progression (or the pace of it, anyway), to give you a more compelling reason to actually go and out an engage with it, beyond just doing it “for the fun of it”, because it’s so trivially easy to get showered in gear just from basically walking around.

The polar opposite of Anthem’s problem! They both need to meet somewhere in the middle, sounds like, although I’d ultimately rather have this game’s issue. After all, no reason they can’t just have WT4 an easy to reach cap for now an then release new tiers whenever they want to.

I do find it odd to have four tiers that you just blink and you’re done with, but I guess it depends on how many they plan on adding for me to understand the scale. If 5 is as high as they go that’s a shame, but if it’s planned to be on a scale of 10 a year or so down the line that’s a little different.

blueprint is 900 or so from white house vendor after you craft it

I fully expect the “World Tier” to increase pretty much any time they add a new raid to the game, just like Destiny’s “light level” periodically increases with new content.

I actually thought Anthem’s loot came pretty fast and furious too (at least up through masterwork quality), but of course, Anthem’s endgame mostly consisted of running the same three missions over and over (or more likely, grinding the one with the giant spider 80% of the time).

Just hit level 16 myself and wanted to dabble into the online thing a bit. Any chance I can get an invite into the clan here? My Xbox tag is UpsetSnail.

Let me be the eleventy-billionth to make some kind of “salty” pun. Welcome to QT3 :)

I think this thread has the current list of gamer tags, if you want to add some of us:

Also Harkonis posted his clan upthread, you could join that to play with this specific game.

I’m on PC, but welcome to the forum!
