Massive is and always has been (in my personal experience) terrified of making anything cool or powerful. It’s why their loot sucks, their specializations sucks, their SHD watch level ups suck. And it’s why as soon as something looks even remotely like it has a sharp edge they rush to dull it. The horror, what if there was actually a sought after piece of loot/skill/specialization? Better just to make sure they’re all dull as dirt so no one gives a fuck about any of them.
I don’t get it. The gameplay is pretty good and I enjoyed playing it for a bit with a friend, but if even the non-armored NPCs don’t take several magazines to drop while simultaneously slapping the shit out of you left and right, Massive panics. It’s a weird game where they want to sell this fantasy of being this highly trained operative with amazing technology yet at the same time they want to make sure you are vastly inferior to any random criminal that can’t hold a gun properly. I like how these goons can just walk straight at me across open ground while I dump dozens of rounds into them but one stray bullet hits my arm and I’m in the ICU for the foreseeable future.

Emergency Maintenance Notes:
Resolving the issue with missing Striker Kneepads
Fixed a bug that caused the M1A still do any damage
I think I’m pretty much done with Div2 for now. I whacked one of the WONY bosses with the help of a friendly former clannie, ran the offsite missions, and played the college missions until they turned into “RUSH YELLOW FLAMETHROWER GUY AT YOU, GG HF” fistfucks.
Maybe I’ll go back and play some Div1 underground.
The one Kenly College one where you hit the elevator button and get bum rushed, yeah. Who thought that was a good idea?

Question for you more experienced players with the expansion.
I’ve just created a new toon, levelled them up to 30 in Washington and I’m at WT1 (i think). Can I go to NY now or do I need to get to WT5?
At what point do the levels 31 - 40 kick in or is that only in NY?
Thanks!
The expansion kicks you to level WT 5. You will effectively skip the Black Tusk stuff.
Level 31-40 are for NY.
EDIT: Never mind. Apparently, it wasn’t registering that the weapon was in my inventory. It works now. So freakin’ odd.

The patch notes today indicate they made the big guys who rush run slower.
Ya, kick in the backside for my mortar build. It was perfect talent for hunkering down in cover and launching mortars.
I’m at a loss what to replace it with. Primary is still a perfect spike rifle, secondary is now a hole in my heart.
From what I played in Div2… Div1 underground is the high point of the series, and the closest thing to a dungeon crawl loot-shooter (Diablo-esque) we’ll probably ever get, so long as everyone tries to “reinvent the wheel by making it suck…” (see anthem loot).
Man, I thought the underground stuff was tedious as hell. I think Survival was the best part of the first Division, I wish they had something like it in the sequel.
Just go outside I suppose.
Tedious, how so? Kinda liked being able to ‘spec’ the adventure and just go in there. Just a shame it did not continue endlessly to randomly generated missions/set-pieces (like sort of warframe maps are). And the matchmaking kinda sucked, since you had so many parameters and only like 5 people queued.
Well, tedious as in, you can see pretty much everything the underground has to offer on one run but it’s built to be run over and over again. And that might be worthwhile but I never really got great loot there, at least not without bumping the challenge up really high and hoping I got grouped with some folks who knew their ass from a hole in the ground.

I’m leaning towards the Urban MDR as a replacement for the nerfed M1A Classic.

They are reverting the nerf to only a 20% hit in PVP only.
40% nerf overall changed to a 20% nerf in PVP.
… sounds like they throwing darts.

They blamed it on COVID-19 (I’m serious, not meaning that as some sort of joke).

I find where I most appreciate this game is when I’m solo and just wandering the map, like a freelance mercenary. After hundreds of hours, when I’m not in “Goal” oriented mode, I still find little touches here and there that are extremely cool. Love the changing weather, with good headphones it can be very impressive. I set out in solo to simply walk from one corner of the world to the other, just to see what I could find. It’s a really well done “world.”
I listened to the state of the game and I read the reddit. You’re simply not going to find a way to please everyone. The hardcore PvP players want things that are the exact opposite of the PvE players who never play PvP (raises hand - PvE only here.) The hardcore, raid running “Legendary is too easy, I have to play with a pistol and no armor while I look over my shoulder in a mirror just to make it a decent challenge” players have very different game design “wants” than the casual player who can only play an hour or two after they get home from work.
