Sauromatia has enough smelly masculinity with our swampmen. You are welcome to the fishmen of Old Forest. What in the world are fishmen doing in the forest anyways? Don’t they know there are bears are in there. We were bothered by neither bears nor wolves. Perhaps it is a forest thing. We prefer the opens plains to better allow us to run down our enemies.

Even the mighty T’ien Ch’i must wonder the same. What is the intent of the batswarms that lie in seemingly predatory hunger upon our borders as well? We appreciate our past dealings but your hordes seem to grow in size. Perhaps with a less aggressive posture our realms might cooperate anew on … other matters.

Hrm, Caelum. Our scholars inform us mammoths are akin to the murderous death machines know as the elephant. But these elephants are not peacefully constrained behind rivers. Concern.

Provided your blind troops don’t end up stumbling into my lands, I’m sure we’ll get along swimmingly. Speaking of swimming, with regards to the lake, that depends on who gets in first I suppose. Vongar is yours. Our troops need not waste their time on petty killings. We have much bigger armies to kill.

No harm from us. We seem to need swarms of bats as they tend to flee at the slightest scratch so those numbers are normal to take over small time provinces. They will be moving on, especially since the province is so poor and my bats are getting diseased and dropping like flies.

Very good. I am not sure why they are there either, but they may make a good fit for our bats that seem to like forests.

I must admit, I am not sure where to put these bats as they are stranded without enough supplies. I will try to retreat some to the caves, but being surrounded all around, they will be on someone’s border no matter what I do. Another issue is the caves seem to have very limited supplies so my bats have found sustenance in the only province nearby that can sustain them in the forest there. Too bad they can’t add a Hibernate command for my bats so they can hang out in caves and not consume supplies.

I must admit that I didn’t realize this map may be intentionally low on income and supplies? Perhaps it is just luck, but I am quite sure I have more than just a couple <2000 pop provinces and a few of them like 730-1200, which is brutal.

Poor diseased, starving cowardly bats! We should find better lands to resettle them to so they don’t appear to menace our borders so.

nods wisely

I’ve played this map before, and i recall it having few pop centers - at that time I didn’t really notice it, but i think now that it’s intentional - and the economy of the world a means of significantly contributing factor to player decisions.

Lets see Pan making 22k a round now!

Xibalda, that is good news - for the smell of the bats is making the elephants skittish and nigh uncontrollable.

Any way you guys could set up a Hangman thread?

I’m having to wade thru a lot of posts on a game I’m not in, to keep track of the ones that I am/were in…

Its good to see everyone getting along so well. Lanka is now fairly well defined in our borders, and have really only one or two provinces left that we are looking at to see if they have bananas.
And we have to agree that while there are plenty of bananas, there is not a lot of gold, or people around. Did you know that bananas provide a lot of potassium, which is essential for Growth? Lanka knows!

Greetings Machaka. Sauromatia would like to claim provinces 101 and 91 on your western border. We realize sharing is valued however, and would offer 91 if your plainsman would want to live in the cloud forest of Oak Halls (91). However, we would be much less flexible in our desire for The Cloudbreakers (101).

Good tidings Sauromatia. Your offer is a fair one - we’ll take 91 and leave 101 for your occupation.

Funny how the throne which I have the easiest access have this guard

I won’t be attacking it anytime soon. :(

Go for it! I have a scout there and I can watch ;).

I am trying to come up with a strategy myself to try to take out the Stone Monstras, Living Statues and Golem next to me. I doubt my bats can even scratch stone although the Golem will probably go down if I can get to it.

Regretfully the T’ien Ch’i must admit to some minor border skirmishing with the noble Caelcum, due no doubt to misunderstandings between the armies on our borders.

ANON

Extreme frustration at not saying anything.

Nothing really to say? Took last land province, gearing up to take a sea province, everything is nice. Eating bananas while watching bats flit through the woods.

Hangman:

Close fight the 2nd time around, Akaoni. Good thing you fed those archers some good bananas as they pulled their weight in melee to finish them off :).

EDIT: I guess I should have looked things over more closely after the patch. I also lost the ability to hire a certain mage in caves with just a lab and didn’t realize it until I already blew 500 gold on a lab there. Ugh!

Well, make a fort there so at least teh 500g won’t be wasted.

Yeah, it helps on the attack if a large portion of your archers actually ATTACK with thier buddies instead of stay on SNEAK orders. Dang monkeys…

Yeah, will cost me some time, but at least it isn’t a total loss.
