That brings up a good point. I was wondering if the players would like the interval you have to get your turn done, which is 48 hours, to be pushed back to 72.
Late game strategies, research, movements, and scripting takes time, and I know that I am spending an hour plus on mine. Usually its a case of going back and undoing earlier orders, contradicting myself, and generally making a mess of things, but it does take time.

I would probably prefer 72 hours, but can do with either.
72 hours sounds good to me

Ok I have changed it to 72, effective immediately.
Let’s see some evil, cunning, diabolical plans as a result!
Yeah I think that’s the right call. This is my first game making it this far into the late game as anything approaching an appreciable power. It’s a bit disorienting.

That’s one thing I like with Dominions is that while the learning curve is steep and the first few mp games night be brutal, there is significant progress made in learning and improving with the game.
Unless you end up like me regressing from any skill and ability and content to just smash big armies together like a 6 year old smashes together toy cars.
Damn it, stop giving away my strategy :)
Oh absolutely. And now that my own possibilities are opening up, so are my enemies’. Counters and then counter-counters… it’s a mess, but a fun one.
Heh, I’m right there with you. It should say something that I’ve been playing this series on and off for 10 years or more at this point (Dominions 2 was 13 years ago?!) and am just dipping into the the late game now.

What I like about it is that there are so many different strategies and counters, and then counters to that.
For instance, I think I can safely say that I bet psyanojim wasn’t planning on going with Vine Ogre spamming, but when the Gaia Throne is adjacent to his home, giving him a bunch of nature gems each turn, why not?
And I start raiding Sauro with Nifels with frost brands. So he counters with undead, who are immune to frost. So I bring fire brands and dust to dust. And I notice that the bulk of his army is all archers, so I go melee.
I haven’t seen any of the ryleh/pelagia battles, but I am sure they are entirely different from the rest of the stuff I described.
I would say the playstyles are even more wildly different in the wild ride game, since that relies so heavily on summons and spells.
Gah! I misread my email and sent my turn in a whole 5 minutes late. Sorry guys! That was not a good time to stale.

Ah, Earth Elementals, I’ve missed your visits. Only two show up, but they impress with their ability to level the terrain, and anyone around, into a fine paste.
Anyone know how to deal with these guys? Skelley swarm works sometimes, but its not reliable.
And Sauro, whats with the ever spawning army of raiders and archers? I thought I just fought those guys…like five times!
Yeah you’ve probably killed somewhere in the range of 500 archers and raiders plus probably another 35-50 soothsayers. The raiders I can recruit anywhere and the archers are cheap, it’s the soothsayer drain that might catch up to me eventually.

I stand by what I said earlier :P.
If Pelagia decides to focus more on me, I won’t be able to hold him off. I can’t kill things fast enough with the buffs he is running and he is way more mobile and has more thugs than I. Just saying :).
Part of it may be I don’t have sound strategies with Agartha and not sure what else to do, but with my gem income and what I have now, things could go south quickly.
Yeah, you can see why Pelagia attacked such a weak nation.
Except, wait a minute, Agartha has at least 4 level 9 SCs equipped with Cons 8 gear, and Agartha attacked Pelagia with no warning.
And now, after such a disgusting and cowardly unprovoked attack by Agartha, to make things even worse, Pelagia has to listen to constant whinging every few turns. How dare Pelagia defend itself. Boohoo nasty Pelagia ;)

I am not debating you attacking me and agree that I started it, just evaluating that I don’t think I can hold you off and what you are fielding if other folks are counting on me to continue an attack. I have been in full on defense mode for a number of turns and don’t see gaining ground again. It could very well be my skill level at this point and with this nation, but I truly believe I am in trouble. Unfortunately for me, my Poison Golems has one glaring weakness that I have trouble plugging atm. I won’t go into details, but stand by my evaluation :).
I can see more than one weakness. But who’s counting? ;)

Haha, you are probably right :).

Fear not, Kelan. For I have gone on a pilgrimage, a Vision Quest if you will, searching for the secrets of defeating Pelagia. This quest took me in to the deepest. darkest bars of inner Mexico, where I was forced, forced I say! To drink that vile water they call Tequila. And lo, late one night, after another round of shots, it came to me. “By the light of burning Witch Kings!” I shouted. Or rather, slurred out. I looked down at the bar, but all I saw reflecting off of it was a Pearl Queen winking at me. But the vision changed, and she shriveled into a withered husk. Quickly, I reached for sustenance. “Another shot!” After my fortitude had arrived, I concocted my plan. My evil, cunning, vile plan, one that squirmed out of my brain like the worm in my bottle. I would learn from the teachings of that Pearl Queen, and wither away my enemies! MUAHAHAHAAHA!
Whatever your new cunning plan is, I hope its more effective than your old cunning plan of trying to bore Pelagia to death by complaining :)
Now, as outrageous cunning plans go, I quite enjoyed Rlyehs.
Cancel NAP. Launch sneaky unprovoked attack. Beg for peace the very next turn. Then fight to the death with a huge swarm of 1-damage polypal spawn leading the charge.
Top marks for style and sheer audacity!
