Excellent, do your turns!

So, gentlemen. Its been a few turns, I was wondering if anyone has encountered the other team yet. In addition, I was wondering what your thoughts are on the map.

Team 1 saw that the composition of the map favored forests fairly heavily, and that might have accounted for their picks of Pan and Asphodel. In addition, I noted that all 4 team members have stealthy troops, which will make for difficult scouting by Team 2. If I were team 1, I would have gone with a W9 bless, maybe with a Nx bless, but I prefer better scales than a double bless.

Team 2 picked a wide range of nations, that will encapsulate all the middle and end game magic fairly well. With Eriu they have stealthy thugs, with Ashdod they have the meat shields, with Marigion they have the dominion, and with TC they have the artillery spells and summons.

So I predict that Team 1 will go for an early push, while Team 2 will try to resist the early push and gear up for the late game.

Now, please tell me that I am entirely wrong, because…

Thoughts on the map? I like it, both the layout with the chokepoints and the fact that there is ample opportunities for magic sites/resources, which cuts to the heart of Dominions. Just as a general thought, I do wonder if the middle would have been better served as a area for dedicated river crossings so that a cunning player could either frost up the rivers, or melt them to allow/deny passage across to the other side. Also, Geggis did a fantastic job with the artwork. Everything is clear, the information is all there without having to click on a province to work out what sort of terrain it is. Fantastic job!

In general with the game, it is taking me back to thinking more critically about how I play, and how I can play better. I’m enjoying it!

Glad you like the look and layout of the map, Strato. Feels strange to be playing on it now! :-)

I’m going to be away from my computer after today till about Wednesday next week (Christmas friends and family visiting) so where does that put us all with turn taking?

What happens normally is the game is either set to disable auto-host; so we submit turns, but the game will sit until the game admin instructs the server to host the turn. Other option is to set a longer timeframe for the game to autohost. It just depends on how long people will be away for.

Yeah, I think a holiday slowdown/break is in order, the family commitments will be coming thick and fast over the next few days

Hosting postponed for qt3TeamGame by 288 hours. The game will now host at 08:44 GMT on Friday January 6th.

I will leave quick host on, so if everyone gets in the current turn, there is something to look at during odd moments during the holidays.

You’ll need to increase the hosting interval too though? Its still set to 28 hours

Otherwise if everyone gets this turn in during the break, the next one will be set to 28 hours etc…

Sorry, I meant to add that I will bump it as well if that quick host goes through.

Awesome, thanks!

I think the math was a bit off in the quick change. Says next turn due January 20th :)

Happy Doominiondays everyone!

Weird, I wonder if I somehow submitted the postpone twice? I will fix.

And yes, may your Dominion candles grow, may your thugs life be more thuggery, and may your mages research quicker (Eggnogg +9 RP)! Happy Holidays!

I think that when you increase the hosting interval, it also postpones by increase

So you postponed, then increased the hosting interval, which postponed again :)

You can bring the date forward by postponing by a negative amount

Yay! New turn!

Could we get a couple of extra days added to this turn too please? Still got a few holiday commitments over the next couple of days…

… will all be back to normal for me after that!

Hosting postponed for qt3TeamGame by 48 hours. The game will now host at 04:01 GMT on Thursday January 5th.

Thanks!

2 things

First, could we get the turns extended to 72 hours for this week please? I’m extremely busy in real life unfortunately. Probably a good time to extend permanently to 48 hours anyway.

Second, what is the punishment for breaking this rule?

Not an accidental clash in neutral territory or a defensive war either. This is and has only ever been Bandar territory.

I vote for tarring and feathering. With video proof on youtube.

My father always used to tell me, never trust an Ashdod.

Our team was wondering about this point so i was hoping my little incursion would invoke this discussion :) How does this rule work if a disciple takes over one of my provinces? Can I take it back as self defense?
