Well, I hope it resets the posted turn due time/date when it finally hosts, because I think I’ll be at work…

It will set to 48 hours from whenever llamaserver processes the turn

Llamaserver is currently experiencing rather severe problems due to overloading. It is being used by nearly all Dominions communities to host games and the sheer number of games means it is unable to cope with all of them in a timely manner.

There is a thread about it on Desura.

I don’t think its a general overloading issue, it specifically seems to be a problem with starting large games using clustered starts - theres a 20-player clustered start game in the list which looks like the suspect.

I just tried it on my PC as an experiment, 2-team, 20 players, clustered starts… and the ‘clustering start positions’ algorithm has been sitting there for nearly 30 minutes eating CPU and getting nowhere…

You may well be right. If the ratio of players to provinces is too high, then the clustering algorithm needs to rerun itself numerous times as it looks at various options and optimizations with every team and then some team gets shafted and it starts it all over again.

The placement algorithm had some serious hiccups back in the beta days, when sometimes two nations would start in the same province and both would do their first turn, then the one who did their first would die on hosting. Those were sorted out, a full era with clustered starts is likely to cause it to crap itself. Unless you have a large enough map, say 15-20 provinces per player. Or more.

Congratulations psyanojim!!! Well played! I think there’s absolutely nothing I can do now, so the game goes to you if everybody agrees.

Are the undead prematurely aging your Sirens? Leading dermatologists recommend Cleansing Water, the new miracle treatment from the Evocation school.

Guaranteed to banish your zombie problems and put a smile back on the face of your Sirens!

Please say its over. My couple dozen marshmasters and a crap ton of priests are all that exist in the nine provinces of Ctis. Land expansion in a time of zombies just wasnt in the cards.

Fine by me - Abyssia was dead a half year ago…

Does everyone agree to Oceania winning? Ermor holds 6 throne points, Oceania 5 pts, Ctis holds one (unclaimed), and Nefiel holds one.
If so, I will stop the game, and we can talk about the replacement game (because OF COURSE the qt3 boards can generate enough players for 3 games at once!)

  1. Nikolaj - Curse you and your astral zoomy killing poor centaurs from afar.
  2. Pyrhic - You are squatting on Kailasa territory that I rightfully trashed with Monster Boars, and then snuck in Centaurs to seize. Please leave or the Sea Troll Police will pay a visit.
  3. ddtibbs - Awfully nice pretender you got there.
  4. DireAussie - nice global!
  5. Kelan - I am amazed you have managed to actually make Turmoil 3 Misfortune 3 playable.

I did hand Ermor a pretty severe defeat this turn, at a key location. Its up to Juan whether he feels like continuing the struggle or not, Ermor still has a lot of military power left, and a lot of zombies spawning every turn… but just not in the right places at the moment.

Why Pan, it is so interesting that you mention Monster Boars. Did you know we have been having a rather serious problem with the beasts for quite some time now? Yes, in fact, they would pop up somewhere, murder the local peasantry and we’d have to send a small detachment to go and cleanse them. We found fire works best, but other methods are quite acceptable too, if one can’t cleanse with fire. You haven’t lost track of a handful of them, now and again, have you?

All that aside, we were invited here by the (unfortunately) late lord of Kailasa. He said, and we quote “Please do come and take a look at the Palace some day”, and so we’re just trying to be accommodating. I suppose since he is gone now, we should probably turn back. Though, you know, he never mentioned what a delightful territory he’s founded here. The orchards, and brooks, and forests are delightful of course, but who would have thought that the Kail people knew so much about life on this planet? It’s just astounding, i tell you.

Oh, it’s totally over. There’s absolutely no way I can stop you from winning in two turns (I’m assuming your prophet is in Ravenna, but even if it wasn’t it would be reaaaaaly har for me to do anything). You played an excellent game. It’s yours.

Funny that, Fomoria has a serious problem with Monster Boars too. We don’t have fire magic, but a giant’s club to the head works just fine. Perhaps a more permanent solution is to set fire to the Mother Oak?

I can see a couple of huge zombie stacks that could still try to influence things…

… but yes, the advantage is back with me again after that Ravenna battle, definitely.

I’ve finally got the right mix of mages/research/gems to unleash hell on the battlefield, enough stealthy thugs to seriously disrupt enemy movements, and enough mobility to get my own troops to where they need to be fast.

Hmm, I have also had to root out at least 3 monster boars already this game. It makes me wonder if one of the thrones is causing this as some of the provinces being targeted would not be prime targets.

I’m fine with calling the game. Though of course Van’s not much of a force on its own. I’ve enjoyed the game, got my couple of big battles in. I’m basically just rebuilding my clockwork army to try another break out. There’s not much else to do, I don’t have the research or gem income to change strategies.

DireAussie is too new to the game, but we did have a lot of problems early on with random nature events like Monster Boars, earth elemental attacks, vine ogre attacks, trolls, and satyrs and dryads. I am sure I am not alone with 2 or 3 earth elemental commanders who just joined on a random event. A search of this thread will undoubtedly show some bitching and complaining about it, since it started pretty dang early in the game, when armies are tiny and precious. A patch came through at some point and lessened the effects. I, for one, still get the same Monster Boars that you all do as well.
(Is the three point throne a nature oriented one?)
Alas, I wish I had the gem income to lavish on Monster Boars all over the place. Instead, my castings have been focused on my astral neighbor to my north/south, and exclusively on the castles. Other nature gems have been going into summoning terraesques - they are pretty cool.
Ermor might notice that a couple of the provinces he just moved into have quite the high unrest. I thought it might be skeptics, or Ermorian…whatever, but its probably Monster boars that hit Kailasa after he started staling. I certainly did not hit a province that generates 50 odd gold with a 10 gem ritual.
And Monster Boar does have a range to it. I am unable to determine what it is at the moment, though.

No, No, no.

I happy to just blame you and leave it at that.
