Don’t know what you’re talking about ‘final throne for a win’, ermor is just protecting valuable assets from Pan’s ever-grasping hands!

Snoozers
Have about an hour and a half till Arco stales (and Machaka). Nikolaj, where are you?
I had a thought brought on by planning the demise of pyrhic in Snoozers (which isn’t going to well). He had the great idea of the QTDoom game, which, because only two sides, had no reason to wait till the end game - full on fighting from the start.
What if we combined Anon game characteristics, but each side was a pretender+disciples? Say, for instance, we had the 12 players that we have in the Anon game, that could be 4 teams of one pretender two disciples, with no diplomacy (heretics!!) and no trades, etc.
I would think that might make for a longer game (at least among the early survivors). I really dont know what type of Throne set up would fit that, though.

I’m right here. I usually wait until the end to get my turn in, although I’ll admit it was a bit close this time. Machaka has been staling for a while, and I’m pretty sure he left the game.
New turn’s in now :)
Looks like Pyrhic has claimed the throne of misfortune and will have Arco’s throne this turn. However I’ve torn down the walls in 20 so his victory isn’t sealed just yet!
I was thinking a game with teams of 2 and forum-only diplomacy between teams would be interesting. I’m loving the Anon game but _______ happens and you can’t talk about it. Our Stabby Stabby multiplayer thread will die without one game having diplomacy! Forum only diplomacy will keep the diplomacy between teams fairly lightweight and transparent and will free up time for team members to plan their strategies between each other.
I like DireAussie’s team game suggestion. The QTAnon format is fun and interesting, but it does limit the amount of braggadocio and/or wails of lamentation we see…which is one of the draws to a community like this one.

Adding 24 hours at player request. Complex Dominions 4 strategy + possible New Years hangover = bad news :)

I like DireAussie’s team game suggestion as well. Forum only diplomacy will also open up that facet to newer players, so they can see the trading that goes on ( items for gems, province for gold, etc). Forum only diplomacy would really make declaring war, alliances, and Non Aggression Pacts more problematic.

I would be up for a game fairly soon. I am flexible on setup, but would rather do small teams as opposed to large ones for the next game, if possible.

Fomoria, why do you rally against me so? Who was it that defended your lines from Pan’s hungry claws? Who was it that ensured the stability of your nation when you were in need? Ermor has long been the friendly face defending your borders, and now you violently oppose us? Tell me, assuming you are successful with taking the fort - what then? Look at the map, do you see the vast swath Pan holds? Have you seen how his skulkers and terrorist troops hide in others territories and launch themselves viciously? To you and Yomi both, considering the mass of Pan that has decimated Ermor, do you have any doubt that Pan has the same in your territories?
And to you Yomi, at least I can appreciate you chasing the last thrones - you are, after all, second in contention - but again, considering the absolute likelihood that both fomoria and pan will strip thrones from me, do you think it’s in your best interest to run headlong into my most formidable force? If they are not successful, i will ascend, but if they are, ermor’s most substantial fighting force and your impressive force will be locked into conflict for a throne that will be irrelevant - i think that will deprive us both of forces essential to the escalation of fighting as we approach the end of days.

On another game, i’m up for another - i figure snoozers is bound to finish(one way or another) soon. Right now, as it normally is in end-game, the turns are crushingly long to construct…
I think i like direaussie’s suggestion - id love to try an open diplo game, though i think i’d be more in favor of an individual open-diplo than a disciple open-diplo game. Largely this is because i think the pretender/disciple relationship creates some weirdness for diplo - at the very least, probably requiring teams communicate with each other before public discourse…i dunno, just sounds like it’d be a lot of work…

Well played. I’m willing to concede the game to Pan at this point. Ermor has a few rounds of fight left in it, and would still be able to take on Yomi and Fomoria, but can’t stand against Pan - particularly with the loss of so many artifacts.

Snoozers
I had to watch that battle twice to pick up the main points, and I still know I missed some critical things. Everyone was either Fogged or Etherealed, and my ten Pans (out of my fifty mages) cast both Army of Lead and Army of Gold, Relief, Mass Regeneration, Iron Bane, Gaia’s Blessing, Growing Fury, Ravenous Swarm, Howl, Earthquake, Maw of Earth, and a ton of Storm of Thorns, which works against ethrealed troops nicely. The blood castings, other than re-invigoration, I could have left out. But my Mass Flight first turn helped me out the most on that battle. I wasn’t sure if you had a Staff of Storms or not, but hoped that your air gems were all with the Medusa.
Some clever scripting there as well, pyrhic. Lots of blindness, and I never did take out the kitted out wood constructs.
I watched Fomoria’s attack on the other throne, which was wiped out, probably because they spent all their gems on fighting the breakout of the Fire King and his associated bodyguard. And Yomi did not attack the Medusa and her massive army. Which was a pity, I would have loved to see that.
So the status as Pan sees it:
Ermor still has 7 of the 8 needed to win - the Throne of Zeal was the one that Pan took.
Right now Pan is bringing in 15,700 gold a turn with the global up. There is a lot of infrastructure projects going on in Pan territory now, and a lot more Pans are showing up.
Pan is never going to be able to win by Thrones- Imrinsul pretenders do not move, and I still have my minotaur prophet.
The Worm who Walks is an awesome looking N4 mage, I just summoned my first last turn.
Thoughts on continuing?
Holy crap that sounds like it has been a epic game.

You have to credit pyrhic and Nikolaj for making it epic, and only in the last twenty or so turns. They top the research, I believe, and Pan is close behind. Arco has at least one Air Queen and a Sea Queen, and we have been slugging it out for a long time. Arco came in when Pan attacked Kailasa, as an alliance defender. But Ermor played it very well, stomping on Kailasa’s troops near the throne and then aggressive defense. Pyrhic does not do things half hearted. This is the first time any one of my armies have succeeded against his, and I had to bring fifty mages to make it happen. Admittedly, some of my other armies were desperate ‘Fairy Trod before he gets his castle up, oh crap thats more than just a few guys’ efforts.
Well, you people should youtube the big epic battles.

Well, I’m clearly no longer a contender, so I’d be willing to go on or end it, depending on what Akaoni, Pyrrhic and Kelan(?) agree on. I have been saving up to a grand last stand, although my armies are all a bit scattered and I’m not sure how grand it would turn out to be, considering some of the armies that are stomping around in what used to be my peaceful country.
Haha nice. Makes a huge change from QTFour, where I controlled around 1/2 the map yet was struggling to bring in 2.5k per turn.
Shows what a massive difference the popkilling dominions and Burden of Time can make to world income.
