I know! What do I win?

Umm…the title of nominator of the map for Hangman?

Actually, i was thinking that, in order to keep a lot of role playing going on at least through the middle part of the game, we might want to make the map bigger than normal, to ensure everyone has more provinces. I believe that the normal ratio is 10 to 1? Maybe if we switch it to 15:1?

I think the normal ratio is 15 provinces per player.

Neither has caves.

I don’t think there’s a problem if they reveal themselves, and think it’s fine if they want to talk about their own nation’s start and fall (this is what i had planned, and this is what i was doing, but then…) but i’d avoid naming any thing specifically about their opponents (what their nemesis pretender/bless is, what opposing strategy was, the state of other’s armies or research)

It’s funny what little bits of information can yield. I long suspected who akaoni is, and his response tightens that suspicion even more. Kelan’s response has narrowed my belief of his nationality one nation…

When I watch certain battles, certain preferences of spells make me think they are you pyrhic, but this game I haven’t been really trying to figure people out too much and have been trying to concentrate more on my own decisions. Plus, I spent a ton of hours on my blog and am up to Turn 31 now so feel comfortable I can keep up now :). A few battles I witnessed I put up like 26 screenshots of them so hopefully it will be a good read when the game is done.

For me, it’s more of a hobby

look forward to reading your blog!

Our scouts also watched with great interest as [Akaoni’s / Kelan’s] armies stormed the final stronghold of Marignon. No longer will the house of fiery justice spread its rule across the land.

I have my suspicions too. The player I’m [combatting / making love] with seems very [noob / experienced]. I suspect it is [pyrhic / strato]. He’s turning out to be a real [pain / pleasure] in the ass. Time to unleash my [earth / fire] kings!

Poo! That was pretty silly of me to send in my pretender without some guards to stop him getting wiped out. Well, I had great fun with Acid Storm while it lasted. Incredible spell!

“A real pleasure in the ass” must be a southern hemisphere saying…

I’m modifying Economics now so it has caves and river passes.

I’ve added 8 caves, deleted 2 river crossings and added a swamp. Have a look here:

New map with dark caves
New map with light caves

I think I like the light caves best. I’ll need to recreate the entire map file. I haven’t started yet, if you have any changes you want to above map let me know otherwise I’ll start recreating the map file in a few days. Then I’ll get you guys to double check for any missing links or bad terrain types.

So I played Marignon.

My plan was to site search early to get both national summons and blood summons up and
running as soon as possible.
But I also needed to have a pretender out there who would not just fall over like
a frost father or crone.
Marignon has some interesting Titans, so I went with the Teto Inan, (obviously from
Mictlan influence). I went F3E4S2N2B7, trying to economize the picks while still having a
dominion with scales not too badly off.
My expansion went fairly well, but then one of my neighbors attacked me, who seems to have thrown
research to the winds and just concentrated on buying troops. My scattered forces
were overwhelmed fairly quickly. This was made even more acute when I realized that
I has stuck with construction (gotta get up to level 4 for blood rods) instead of
switching over to evocation like I thought I had done.
I managed to get a second castle up, but my opponent had scouts everywhere, and swiftly
came after it.
The final battle, unfortunately, came all too soon.

And while I cannot tell who you are yet, pyrhic, the patterns of a specific Aussie is quite revealing.

Kelan I have no clue. I mean, hes from Michigan, so… ULM?

Crap, I haven’t had a chance to see it yet, probably in about 12 hrs. Snoozers is not at all a game that lives up to its name.

And yeah, Acid Storm. OUCH.

Which one? There’s 5 of us in this game :)

Well, not you. I will just leave it at that.

QTAnon:

But… I already have the Earth, Fire and Banefire Kings under my command. Next is the Air and Water Queens. Demon lords are OP, won’t use them because I have a sense of honour when it comes to my battles…

OK, only kidding there. Relax! [SUB]I’ll use Demonlords… if I can… [/SUB]

I have no idea what the rest of you Pretenders have been up to? No time for scouts, waste of money. I’m guessing you are all preparing your 3 part apologies as I ascend to Godhood?

What about flying raiders with Implementor Axe? Raiding with fliers it’s considered OP/broken and I think it’s going to be nerfed next patch. Should we ban that tactic?

Looking good to me! I prefer the light caves also. It seemed that you had enough tools in the built in Map Editor to just modify province connections or even add provinces while keeping the originals intact, but I didn’t actually try it yet. I hate to see you have to rebuild the entire map file as that can be an undertaking, but understand how it goes.

I would also prefer a little different look as I have played a lot of games on the Rusty Nails style graphics maps so this will be a nice change too. Let me know if I can be of any help.

The ‘add province’ function probably won’t work with so many extras so I think it will be easier recreating from scratch. Shouldn’t take too long with a 2nd pair of eyes so I don’t have to triple check it all myself.
