The double-slash in unnecessary

Since QT3 posters love to get annoyed when someone else’s post misses an apostrophe or even worse, ADDS ONE UNNECESSARILY!!!..

The inventor of the Web Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

Looking back on 15 years or so of development of the Web is there anything you would do differently given the chance?

I would have skipped on the double slash - there’s no need for it.

This interview is from 2006. So I imagine it may already have been posted here before, and that at least ten or more posters will quickly point this out, along with noting all of the extra commas. Have fun.

There is no double slash, or even a single slash, in unnecessary.

Back to the drawing board with you, professor.

Hehe. I wish I could say that was intentional. But I can’t because it wasn’t.
I also wish there was a way to edit the title in the opening post so that the thread name is updated. As it is there is so much pressure to get that right because otherwise your mistake is eternally preserved for all to witness. I triple checked my apostrophe usage before submitting the post but that didn’t help. At least I predicted the pedantic population of QT3 would obsess about some mistake in the post, so I guess it’s all good.

You can’t fix it now.

BUT YOU MADE A MISTAKE. LOOK! IT’S RIGHT THERE! A MISTAKE!

I took that double slash and then
I Threw It On The Ground!

I liked his idea of the name order scheme giong from largest to smallest. A little thing, but it makes sense.
