It passed through my Twitter feed, not sure who did the original.
The white/gold group consisted of 10 females and 4 males, whereas the black/blue group consisted of 6 females and 8 males. I think it’s quite possible that males and females evaluate dresses differently, resulting in different patterns of higher level cognitive processing. This was not addressed by the study.
