GW2’s solution is pretty reasonable, with the crafting bank that can hold 1 full stack of each material. Paired with that game’s ability to send mats straight out from inventory to the crafting bank, and it’s a much better system than here. I feel like my entire bank in this game is being wasted on crafting mats, and I’m spending more playtime than I’d like dealing with my inventory space.

This game also has more kinds of fidgety little materials than it needs. Add to that the deal where you want to keep items around for research, and your inventory is almost entirely devoted to crafting.

This is one of several “I thought we were past this shit” complaints I have about the game.

When I found this out in GW2, I was amazed and it earned a nice little place in my heart. Having a separate “bank” for just crafting materials accessible by all your characters is genius, IMHO.

Elder scrolls will feature microtransactions eventually - This has been stated several times by the developers. I’m pretty sure horses, backpack space, bank space, and soul gems will become part of it.

Personally the inventory space doesn’t bug me. I end up in a town often enough or find wandering merchants frequently enough that it isn’t a huge issue. Money isn’t that tough to come buy so my personal inventory is at 85 spaces and my bank is at 70 spaces.

If you don’t want to fill it up, just don’t compulsively loot every container.

The transactions they talk about are stuff like WoW does with name changes, etc

Yeah… I’m not sure that’s possible for me. :)

This is just silly. Servers going down again. This time they say it will be up in 4 hours. I.e. Down all EU prime time. Again.

Yeah…the vaunted early access is severely gimped. Oh well - There’s time enough I guess. Just annoying that there is NO warning before 10 minutes before.

I managed to play maybe 1 hour this session. Yay…

My guess is they have a patch to apply, and the best time to do it was right before the official launch, so that’s why the downtime now.

That, or this player got stuck in a rock, and they had to shutdown the server to replace the rock :D

Aww. Going to have to replace a lot of rocks …

Why can’t I run all of a sudden? My first thought was encumbrance, but my inventory is at 45/60. Edit: N/m, logging out and in fixed it.

So far my only complaints are:

[li]Each time I open my journal, some quest other than the one I selected last is selected, and sometimes my checking/unchecking is disregarded and other random quests are checked. And even if the quests you’re interested in are actually selected and checked as you wish, it’s often impossible to orient yourself to the next destination in the quest chain, often because quest-chain destinations are not precisely where their waypoints indicate (you have to wander around to find them). And meanwhile, you would think that checking/unchecking quests would have an impact on the map but alas, the map seems to have its own rules and you’re usually limited to the compass bar at the top for orienting yourself. I suspect this issue affects lower level characters the most.[/li][li]Sometimes I find that running and combat actions are disabled as though I am over-encumbered, even though my inventory shows that I’m not. Re-logging is the only fix and this is especially a pain in combat situations.[/li][/ol]

Yikes, I haven’t run into that, thankfully. Are you out of Stamina or something like that?

No, it’s definitely a bug. Seems to be triggered randomly when you get staggered/knocked back or otherwise cced.

So is the launch terrible?

Nope - no issues, and its a pretty fun game :-)

Well I just got home from work and cannot log in, so I have to disagree so far

Odd, I can log in just fine. Were you in the early access Reemul? And are you on the NA or EU server?
