Just made Tier 1 Campaign Reward Tier this week, now back to about half :(
Emails no longer have containers, just the items attached. :)
Walked into Davon Watch Bank and there were no walls or floor, just white surfaces - a new graphic glitch.
And so far, combat lag. :(

I will have to respect or something. My character was build around shield bashing, and now it do 1/3 of the damage. Mobs in my area will have now 100% more health, and deal 100% more damage.
This push me to square one. I will be able to kill alone mobs, but not groups of two or more. Still reading internet reactions, I will see it with my own eyes this night.
My current Templar build is based on bashing. I can confirm that it is now almost useless.

Bashing was way too good, it was a bit silly that my bash was both my cheapest ability in terms of stamina as well as my most damaging - and it interrupted to boot! MMO devs sure love to overreact and nerf things into oblivion, though. :(
Every time I think, hmm, maybe this is worth getting, it seems there’s another huge batch of bugs or rough spots. By the time it gets smoothed out maybe it’ll fall in price. If it does, which it probably won’t, it’ll probably be when I don’t have time to play it anyhow.

FWIW (not much, I reckon!), I found the game to be well worth the cost. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to wait for a price drop or F2P, but at the same time there’s something about the “fresh” MMO experience that just doesn’t ever get recaptured, even if the game gets more polished later in its life.
I had $60 worth of fun out of it and would still be playing now if Dark Souls 2 and a bunch of other games hadn’t distracted me.

Barstein, your addons aren’t broken. There’s a checkbox in the addon section of the interface called, “allow out-of-date addons.” Check it, as it usually takes a few days for addon authors to catch up their version numbers.
Yeah, that’s why I am torn. I have the beta installation, which still updates, so I guess if I bought it I just have to enter the code?
So near as I can tell, here’s what the patch did:
-
nerfed shield bash (though to be honest, everyone knew this was coming). It does 1/3 of the prior damage not 1/2 as they advertised. Since MMO balance typically swings back and forth, this doesn’t surprise me too much.
-
accidentally doubled the HP for VR5-ish through VR10 mobs. I suspect this was related to Craghorn coming out. Zenimax has said they’re going to fix this ASAP.
-
introduced some bug where some zones (mostly Ebonheart Pact I think) are rolling back every 5 to 10 minutes, preventing people in those zones from making any progress.
-
Changed the Templar abilitly Biting Jabs by adding some sort of delay at the end of it. Theory was this was to address all the bots that are now playing Templars. No idea if this was an accident or on purpose and if so, if it was done to combat bots. But a lot of Templars seem to be pretty riled up.
-
changed the way windowed/fullscreen works. I think people who were running multiple monitors in Fullscreen need to switch to Windowed fullscreen, though I have been hearing FPS drops are pretty big in that mode.
-
reset achievement displays - word is the achievements aren’t reset, but the client isn’t showing them correctly.
-
reintroduced some bug where the Esc key no longer works. I think one of the actions that triggers it is trying to delete stuff from your inventory. I have heard things like using waypoints and other common actions makes this bug appear too. I think when you try to quit under the influence of this bug something strange happens to the ESO process. I had it take about 3.5 GB of RAM and I had to force quit the app to get it to go away.
I hit VR1 a couple of days ago, and the step up in difficulty for my character is making me lose a little interest. I can kill 1 mob well enough, can handle 2 ok, but more than that and it’s all over. I ran into a situation where I was fighting a healer and 2 rogues, and that was very ugly. Also, fighting werewolves is a sad affair.

That’s how it worked at live launch. We did not have to redownload the whole magilla.

VR ranks challenge your build and player skill. It’s a huge uptick in difficulty. Most builds can’t just charge in and explode things anymore. You’ll often fight packs of three, which are usually two melee and a caster. There are various ways to handle this, but most involve some form of crowd control on the melee while focusing down the caster. Proper consumables also come into play.
You’re also going to find more boss fights with mechanics you can’t ignore. Critters will hit you for 105% of your max HP if you stand in the red. Some are immune to various forms of CC. So far (through VR6), I’ve yet to find anything to which I could not adjust. I have really enjoyed the challenge. It’s not Dark Souls-hard, but I definitely have to think tactically and execute the plan well to proceed through the storyline fights.
Yeah, but it was also unchecked before, and my add-ons were still broken after updating them. Edit: I didn’t read your post carefully and missed the “usually takes a few days for addon authors…” comment. Thanks again.
Sorry to hear about your nerfing experience, templar brothers and sisters. My skills seem to be unaffected. Only serious complaint I have so far is the multiple display nerfing. It was convenient to be able to multitask a bit while in the game.
Edits #2, 3 & 4: Three bugs started affecting me after the patch and they all seem to be related to deliberately using wayshrines, and /reload fixes at least the first two. (1) ESC becomes disabled each time you go somewhere via a wayshrine, which among other things makes it impossible to log out of the game or quit. (2) Sometimes clicking the plus button next to a new skill, when you are permitted to add one, results in it depressing but nothing else happens (you still have the skill point). (3) Sometimes inventory items become locked and can’t be used, sold or removed. /quit also works as a last resort.

my NightBlade Ultimate is now getting used, before the patch it never filled
the Siphoning ultimate
Which Ultimate? My first roll was a Nightblade and I had no problems with her Ultimate.
Noticed it worked a lot better after patch.
Also noticed a LOT Of indoor quests NPCs I could no longer talk with unless I talked with someone else first,
or that I could no longer press ESC to the get the menu, and that destroying items only worked some of the time.
Yeah, destroying items often results in them getting grayed out but you don’t get the popup, so at that point you’re essentially screwed. For things like the Esc key and that /reloadui usually works.
I also heard that the addon Extermanitus Group Leader (or however it’s spelled) was causing these issues. I disabled that addon and have not had any issues since, so there may be a bit of truth to that. Of course, Zenimax could have fixed some of the issues too but I prefer to think I fixed it!
I’ll send him an angry PM, since he’s in my guild :)

DEFRAG cleared my lag, I have 43GB free so as the 4% fragged was entirely ESO, it was effectively much more. Must remember, lag + disk thrashing = defrag now!
Hope that was also why I was getting sky instead of inside wall/floor/ceiling/staircase textures.
I’ve seen that red box every so often since I started. Much prefer it to the game crashing.
Think I’ve seen it on a later visit so maybe a game caching issue?
